@@3334me I watch this other channel called scamfish and it’s mostly old, unattractive women sending money to Nigerians pretending to be white, American either military guys, oil rig workers, or Doctors Without Borders. They get on the phone and they have these thick Nigerian accents and the women make excuses like “well he has been stationed in Germany for a long time and I think that’s a German accent”. I think deep down these people know they’re being scammed. They just love having someone to talk to everyday who tells them they’re beautiful and that they love them. I honestly think this could be a legit business someone can start. It’s like prostitution without the sex or even having to meet them. Just talk to them on the phone everyday and say you love them, and they’ll pay.

The truth is, if these people would just be realistic, they could date somebody online who’s not a scammer. The two first cases on the show are overweight people who were tricked by by somebody pretending to be good looking. They can claim that they are always rejected because of their looks, so then why don’t they go for someone who looks like they do??? Sounds ridiculous, but for certain types of people they’re very vulnerable for attention and love. The wish is stronger than seeing the truth. My mom is 77 and is a victim of a romance scam and took loan after loan out even using her car as collateral upwards of $30,000. It’s terrible. This person skillfully played on all of her vulnerabilities and exploited her and my brother and I have to pick up the pieces. She does feel like a fool and I’ve learned that the risk for s*icide is extremely high with scammed elderly. So, I am angry with her, but I have to tread carefully.

Cody's family is so very supportive. I love that they instigated this investigation to save him from that Nigerian scammer. Many people don't have that support system backing them up and they end up feeling ashamed, guilty and foolish. Some have been so broken by these foul criminals that they have self deleted out of complete despair. I'm thinking that schools are going to have to implement classes dedicated to preventing people from being manipulated by these low life evil actors.
