He used to do it from the bank too but I guess he's done with that. I'm 41 fished all my life except a few years only been in a boat a handful of times and for some reason just don't feel the urge to fish out of one. I figure I would spend most of my time wasting gas trying to find that better spot. Truthfully I just think catfishing was meant to be done from the bank in the shade with a buddy and an ice chest full of frosty barley pops. I cut that last part out several years ago but it did make things a lot more interesting.

I've also noticed you've been doing this for a long time but the way you put your rod down cross ways on your boat and grab the loop on your net then grab the rod the same time coming out of the water with the fish, The same way everything 👌.Works perfectly and never no problem.

Yep, he has solo landing large fish down to an art form. I appreciate his set-up in general, with rod placement and a no frills boat that is perfect for doing the type fishing he does. A live bait well might be a good addition, but space would be compromised.

A blind man could see those bites. LOL! I have really been enjoying your videos Catfish Dave. You are very smart too. You know a lot about operating your boat and probably know how to tie a bunch of different knots. You appear old school but then one realizes you know how to use your smartphone and camera ap and how to edit and post videos. It looks like you are so good at catfishing it would get boring. Do you knight fish? Fish the banks for bass or other game fish? Are you retired? You have a wonderful life Dave. You really do. Keep on doing what makes you happy and other people happy watching you.

I hope it's a fish. Or else your skipjack came back to life. In Michigan bank fishing, it could be your live bluegill getting nervous when a Flathead is nearby. When Dave is tired of catching Blues he needs to come to Michigan, during football season. It is a great time to catch Flatheads. I hope I can catch a Flathead or 2 this weekend before the start spawning here.
