To ironic - I literally just super glued mine down before watching this video. Dave - those screws will loosen - they do on all brands. Water Proof Loctite or super glue will help keep them from constantly coming loose brother!

Everyone seems to have their own way of hooking up a planer board. I have found that it works best for me to throw my bait out about 20 yards, then I hook my board to line. Then I stagger my plane boards at different distances from the boat. That method seems to work best for me.

Glad you were successful on your first attempt at boards! They are great but can be a pain at times. It is made up by the increased number of fish. Until you get your iPilot figured out. I usually get my trolling motor set going straight and use my steering wheel to make the motor into my rudder. Best of luck CFD!!

I have that “motor not found” error come up about once a month or so. Disconnecting the small screw connector on the motor wire and reconnecting it works for me. It’s annoying for sure though. I’ve never used boards before either. Thanks for sharing and showing this funny how to maybe use them.

Dave, I've hooked Catfish on planer boards at speeds as high as 2.5 MPH while trolling for Walleye on Lake Erie. Don't be afraid to up the speed a few tenth of a MPH.

I'm from Kentucky I've catfish all my life I've caught catfish all the time best bait in my part of Kentucky is dig up green worms on the river bank best bait to uses on Cumberland River on Bush hooks or trout line use blue gills cut bait but i like watching ur shows

I hate missing the last 2 Spring bites because of motor troubles and I can't afford to pay some marine mechanic to work on a cheap boat! Thats the left Mr Dave... You fishing those things like a Pro... If you put a little smaller clip on the back of the board and a bead above your swivel at your leader the board will stop before it gets to your peg float

Use the trolling motor, it has cruise control and the North button will keep you straight.
