Cathay Pacific A350 Business Class - Is It Still The BEST?

Great to see a positive review of Cathay Simon, they were hammered during the pandemic. We flew business class with them ADL to LHR return in 2019 we thought they were great. They aren't flying out of Adelaide at the moment so we are trying JAL this time on the same route but from Sydney 787-8 apex suite, which I'm really looking forward to as that seat is awesome. I flew on Cathay Pacific once, and business class from LAX to Bangkok layover in Hong Kong, this was about a year and a half ago I thoroughly enjoyed my flight with them, The food was very good. I especially like the hamburger and fries for the snack lol, once all the main service was done? The flight crew was kind of nonexistent, which I enjoyed, feed me as soon as possible and let me go to sleep lol I usually fly with ANA in business class, I would enjoy to fly with Cathay Pacific again.

If you get the chance to go HKG again, go to the Pier lounge, it is a significantly better experience than any other lounge. Although it is off in a corner of the terminal, so people tend to visit the other lounges. Pier is massive and much nicer.

I had a fabulous experience on the A350 cathay business to Tokyo later last year - i heard there was cost cutting etc last few years but from my perspective it hasn't impacted the soft/hard product. I wonder if the older planes are as good though.

If you have a Cathay Business Class ticket, can you go to the Qantas Lounge and then also to one or more Cathay Business Class Lounges? Or is it obligatory to choose only one lounge? I bought a Cathay Business Class ticket and I'd really like to lounge hop a bit in Hong Kong if I have time. Also, does Cathay have an arrival lounge in Hong Kong?

Great to see such a good service especially with the food it seems to be quite decent. Recently Cathay has a reputation with a hit and miss service with the staff and the food. I had a trip with them recently on the same journey actually HKG to SIN, but the breakfast option leaves more to be desired. Since cathay was able to finally gain profit during 2023 first ever since the pandemic has stricken the airline, hopefully they can invest more money with staff training and also with an upgrade with their soft product.

I live in Tokyo and I'm a long-term Cathay Pacific user (going to Europe or Asia) and the reason is they are just that great and continue to be so (even compared to JL, NH, SQ or other regional big players)! Hi Cousin Simon😅, just seen your video now, just a few things to say or comment as the case might be. I say Cathay does have a great Business product here, Great food, Attentively great service from the crew, though question for welcome drinks, did you get an option? Apple or mango or whatever offerings they had? The toilet nice and I would agree about the window, nice touch on the Cathay A350, I'm waiting to see how the Emirates A350 compares, Don't get me wrong Emirates has an awesome impeccable Business class product and I ❤❤❤ it. The lie flat seat, I think I will be more partial towards Emirates lie flat seats especially notable mention to their game changer business class seat is better, a seat mattress for the bed would be nice and would go a long way, but that is not to say Cathay is bad it's just my preference. Yeah another great airline, I wouldn't mind trying if they decide to fly to my home island country that is, a little gem of paradise in the Indian Ocean. Of course airline people would know it as SEZ, others would know it as the Seychelles Islands.

The skybridge has been ripped off from London Gatwick. But apart from that it looked a great service, but that seat is soon to be superseded. Glad you enjoyed it. It looked phenomenal.

If you latch the screen, there's basically no "footwell" as you'd have almost unlimited vertical knee room. Huge plus in my books vs other businesses class seats designed by people who hate knees.

In terms of your speculation, everyone seems to like to mention Air China own 30% of CX… but no one seems to mention that CX also own 18% of Air China (Passenger Side) and 53% of Air China (Cargo) which is based in Shanghai. So the shareholding are really cross shareholdings with each company has board seat in each other companies. 🤷‍♂️

I had the worst flight with cathay pacific this week ( from Hong Kong to Brisie ) and definitely won’t use this flight again . Its economy was a nightmare for me . I was almost panicked because of the heat I could not breath properly . Besides ,their flight attendants were rude . The only thing I like about my flight was the food otherwise anything else about my round flight with CP was negative .
