Thank you for this music. I often listen to it as I do stretching exercises before sleep. As an Anglican, I appreciate the images of Ely, Liverpool, and St. Paul's cathedrals.

I've been trying to find ambient organ music videos like this for awhile now and although there are many well known classical pieces that are soothing, they tend not to fill me with relaxation for any great length of time, say besides some Messiaen pieces, for example. In any case, I just wanted to say thank you for making such great music and showcasing the organ's diversity. It is such a shame that the more romantic-based organ with its orchestral like timbres doesn't get the credit it deserves. However, I'm grateful to be part of a small group of music lovers who so happens to see and appreciate this often touching and powerfully emotive instrument. Thank you for what you do! God bless you. 🙏

Thank you so much! I was also looking for ambient organ music as well, and couldn't find any, so that's why I ended up playing/recording my own. I will definitely be making more soon

Thanks Jerry! Certainly a different kind of improv mindset, and it actually takes quite the focus to not have any note slips when you're 45 minutes in and it's only going to be one take.

Thanks so very much for creating the "Ambience" series!! It's truly wonderful to listen to on my ear pods, and brings back so many wonderful memories of my own pipe organ studies from the age of 12 to 17. Cheers!!

@@aaronshows beautifully done. Did you set out with any rough framework in terms of voices, keychanges etc, or did you simply dive in & hit the keys?
@aaronshows11 ай бұрын
I wrote out a few different chord progressions on a piece of paper in front of me because, when I'm 30 minutes in, my brain is looking for anything to focus on, so that helps when I'm in the thick of it, but everything is improvised!

Hey man...proud to be one of the few chosen to comment on the video. As usual, I randomly fell into your videos looking for meaning in everything, and music has always been my tool of transcendence. The most interesting thing is that I have been going to sleep this past week and wake up in the morning listening your pieces. After repeating them many times during my day, I doubted that maybe they were all the work of a generative AI. I was so surprised by the lack of direction... I couldn't find any "classical" structure that evolved from one point to another, it was simply contemplative beauty "per se". At the end, I built my own argumentation to justify the right to any AI to create art. I work with AI tools, and I wouldn't dare to argue nor for or against about when consciousness spontaniously emerge. Clearly, the surprise was when I decided to see more of your material, and found a modest talented human sitting in front of an organ. So... no AI, NO SYNTHESIZERS. Words cannot describe what triggers these little gems in each individual, nor how they manifested themselves to you. So I leave to each one his experience lived through listening to you. Thanks!

The improvisations are similar to what was called "space music" back in the late 1980s to early 1990s that was played on a PBS radio station. Very calming. I still have recordings of them on cassette tape. Nicely done. Improvisation is one thing that scares the crap out of me. If I'm SURE no one is around when I'm practicing the organ at night at church for the Sunday service, I can sometimes get 4-5 minutes of something similar - without too much of a melody - just playing chords and pivoting between similar chords. After a bit I tend to throw in chords that tonally and totally change the key signature, though.

Hi Aaron! Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful music! I was wondering if I might have your permission to use some of your ambient organ music as a background to accompany my reading of Anglican Morning and Evening Prayer, according to the Book of Common Prayer, for a podcast project that I am working on, provided you are given credit in the show notes for each episode where your music is used?
@aaronshows10 ай бұрын
Yes, it's okay to use, if credit is given. I would also like to hear the podcast when it's available! I'm always interested to hear where my music ends up...

This is absolutely beautiful. I did take one semester of Organ my last year in college. I got an A minus because I was not very good at the pedaling. Unfortunately, for the last 7 years I have been dealing with a disease called Myalgic Encephalomyolitis Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Essentially, it is a Disregulation of the Autonomic Nervous System. It is only recently that I have really started to heal. I have realized that the majority of this illness for me is not being in a state of calm. Being in a constant state of fight, flight, or freeze is certainly not the best for anyone😮. Thus, your music is just what the doctor ordered!!!! May God continue to bless you and your family. Miss Monique 🙂🌷🙏💗

Mlle Monique.
