Finally got to Buxton and did this ripper trail. I went the full loop before getting to this and the place felt a lot like Forrest. Not many decents or accents, just slow and steady. Stunning location. Cathedral was something else though. Skipped all the gaps but hit a few of the table tops. I'll try for a full run some day, but that might be a ways off. Love all this content though...gives me a great feel for these places before I rock up.

That's awesome Paul! I think you summed Buxton up perfectly. Yes, Cathedral was scary the first few times I rode it when starting out, it took me three years to build up to that large gap jump but my confidence shot up after hitting it. I found starting with the end gap jump (1:54) followed by the slightly larger and poppier one (1:25) at the beginning is the best progression. Then sealing it with the large gap jump last feels awesome. I have a video from December last year where I hit this stretch at a blistering pace and even managed a ninth fastest Strava time. It was the first time I hit the gap jump on my own and really felt like I earned that run.

Really appreciate you posting these videos. I live in Vic and semi new to MTB and your videos help me greatly in choosing new trails that are suitable to my skill level. Keep up the great content.

Probably one of my favourites but the climb up can be hard going after a full circuit

Sportilium agreed, but whenever that day comes, the sun will seem just that much brighter and the stoke will be that much higher 😁

Yeah but it took three years to build up enough courage to attempt the large one. Thanks for your virtual ride clip. One of the best so far. Put a big smile on my face.

Can't wait! But Buxton is still outside of my 25km. Not too much longer I hope, by then you should be all healed up. Take care.

Love your uploads. Never been Buxton before, but keen to check it out. How long is the climb to the trail head? Thanks in advance
@Sportilium4 жыл бұрын
Chris Pratt thanks man. Really appreciate the encouragement and support. The trail head is at the base of the hill and the climb is long but gradual and not too taxing. Then it’s a series of flows berms back down. Cathedral though is a separate beast and a killer climb back to the top but will get you there much quicker.

Fun fact this is the first ever trail I’d ridden on a 2011 Specialized epic comp, yeh let’s not talk about what happened
@Sportilium4 жыл бұрын
Did you send the jumps then and was there footage 😂 hope it wasn’t too bad. It’s a big trail and I remember shitting myself the first few times I rode it on my hard tail.
