@@Chris-zl3np His Hero-Weapon DOESNT Translate Skill-Names like "Blutopfer" ---> (The German Word for "Blood Sacrifice"). Since i am a German, i have to say though: It's a bit strange sounding in German, because more correctly it should rather be written like: "Blutopferung" instead of "Blutopfer". Well... "Blutopfer" is technically okay too, but... well xD Anyways: I think Naofumi thought he is sacrificing the Pope's Blood, and pays with his SP (like he did with the Iron Maiden ----> *Iron Maiden uses up ALL OF HIS "SP" at once, which means he instantly loses the Ability to use Shield-Hero-Skills which is especially devastating for Heroes like Naofumi.* Well.. he didnt expect too lose himself THAT MUCH BLOOD at once, since he isn't familiar with the German Language from his Home-World, and he thought he could somehow manage the Price... however it turned out too much. Thats why the Curse Series is so dangerous: The Special "One-shooting" skills like Iron-Maid -----> Blood Sacrifice (=Blutopfer) -------> ??? (another EVEN STRONGER Oneshoot Curse-Skill, which Naofumi hasn't even unlocked yet,) have HIGH Prices.... Iron Maiden makes you basically unable to use ANY Hero-Skills since it uses up your Hero-SP-Points, and Blood Sacrifice bring you on the Verge of DEATH with high Bloodloss + *receives a LASTING curse which reduces all stats except defence by 30%* I can also spoiler the Last Skill which he unlocks, though this will be a SPOILER! DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANT A SINGLE SPOILER: Spoiler: The next Skill he unlocks after Blood-Sacrifice/Blutopfer has the Name ----> Megido-Burst. However since Naofumi suspects/fears that this will outright kill him, or take something from him that he CANT get healed/restored anymore with normal means. So he NEVER outright uses it, which is probably the right choice. Considering that Iron-Maiden takes ALL your Hero-Exclusive SP (Skillpoints) AT ONCE and makes you after one use, unable to use skills, and Blood-Sacrifice ALMOST kills you, and curses you to have ALL stats lowered by 30% (only Defence remains the same).... then one might expect what MEGIDO-BURST would demand as a price from him. *In his Place, i would also NOT USE IT without knowing the Price!*

That weapon is basically a relic from the last era of heroes. It was created to recreate the 4 Cardinal Weapons but nobody could use it (hero perks) The only reason the Pope could use it was because of the church providing the MP needed. Glass said the heroes are useless, but even the Pope knows it. Low key, the Queen is a MILF. She's even better in Manga because of her personality. This Curse Shield scene legit reminds me of Berserk when Guts wore his armor the first time, with the dog. Fun Fact: Blood Sacrifice is a Curse Shield attack that exchanges the user's HP to kill the target. Because it's a step further than Iron Maiden, it doesn't just use MP and SP. It also has lasting debuffs.

Thanks for reaction guys, at the scene of Shield hero falling into his darkness from using rage shield, that dragon taunting him, reminding not ONLY naofumi, but the audience of the shit people put him through this world, as well it tempted my anger as well. until the sweet melody and voices of his close friends and companions reminded him the good things he's done through his memories. Honestly i rewatched this series with many friends and i'm not gonna lie, im almost 26 year old man and that scene always get tears into my eyes. Maybe cause i relate to naofumi of feeling unappreciated.for hard work. The show does a good pace and usage of flash back strong meaningful moments of naofumi achievements.

Ren, Itsuki and Motoyasu don't understand what they have done wrong and why Naofumi is unwilling to team up with them. When Naofumi needed help, not a single one of them took his side. But when they're in danger, they expect him to forgive and forget. When people don't acknowledge their wrongdoings, they'll usually just repeat them. The people who have had his back when they had nothing to gain are the people he trusts, not ones who only want him when it's convenient.

The pope didn't turn it into a shield because it would represent the devil of the shield but he did use the shields power. That's what all those barriers were all the other hero weapons don't come with barriers or at least we never seen them using power like that.
