We were thrilled when Catherine Russell stopped by the KNKX studios on July 21, 2015 for a Live Studio Session. Here she delights us with her performance of "Aged And Mellow" off of her new studio album "Bring It Back."

The KEY with all black notes on the PIANO => Dflat for me the most beautiful KEY. Special when I hear pianist Mark Shane' s hands touches the piano.

Ms. Russell certainly deserves all the accolades that everyone here is giving her. However, it should be acknowledged that Mark Shane is absolutely killin' it on the piano. One problem i have with the guitar player is that he owns that wonderful sounding instrument and I don't. The other problem I have with him is that he played a few voice leadings i didn't think to play when I learned this tune. He should not be humbling his elders like that. Seriously, Matt's playing served the music perfectly and Tal is also at that the same rung of the ladder. Thanks to those responsible for capturing this gem and making it available.

Just discovered Catherine Russell. Love her voice. She sings in my range. Love this song (although I may have an opposite viewpoint 😉) and the arrangement-it’s sexy.

A new discovery for me and I'm so happy to hear this beautiful singer Catherine Russell. ❤️ Actually two new discoveries for me, the radio station too. And it's not even 8:30am yet!!! I'd better not get too carried away with the blues this early in the morning, otherwise I'll be reaching for the whiskey and singing along. Just kidding..... I'd have breakfast first. 😉❤️
