This is the best play-by-play explanation of an Ablation available on KZbin. I wish I had found it before my Ablation, which took place 3 days ago. My mind would have been more at peace, and I would have been less apprehensive about having it performed. So far, so good! I monitor my heart with an Apple Watch and the EKG's look phenomenal. Thank you Dr. Dhinoja for taking the time to explain this in a clear and concise manner. Also, a great shoutout to the team that worked on me at R.I. Hospital in the USA, and to all of the individuals who work in this field to alleviate the suffering associated with AFIB.

@WolfOfOdinn It was completely painless. I was sedated through the procedure and woke up 5 hours later. I went home the same day. It takes about a day for the anesthesia to completely wear off, and you can only do light exercise for a week. After that it’s been smooth sailing.

I had an ablation performed years ago. I was only 20 yrs old.. They told me it would take no longer than 2 hours but it actually took 6 hours.. and I was awake the whole time.. the only discomfort I had was the burning in the chest. Nothing too serious.. I recovered very well and went home the next day.. medical team were awesome! I can finally move faster and excercise without having a heart rhythm episode.

Thank you Dr. Dhinoja. Excellent presentation. I am 1 month post ablation performed at St Paul's in Vancouver, Canada. In spite of almost daily episodes of AF in the first 2 weeks post ablation, it appears that symptoms are now rapidly diminishing. This ageing player will be back on the ice rink tonight. Your work is hugely appreciated!

This is by far the best, most informative video on ablation that I've seen. I've had two. One cryo and the RF about a month ago. I'm in the U.S. but the OR there looked just like the one I was in. I can say the procedure is mostly painless and easy to go thru. The biggest pain was the tiny incision on either groin areas. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again if I had to. For those of you that are needing to have it done, rest assured that there isn't anything to worry about. :)

Great video, I have come back into atrial fibrillation for the second time now just waiting to have cardioversion for the second time, I am 57 and first had a-fib three years ago. But by the sound of it this will happen again and again until further treatment like catheter ablation is done. Thanks so much for showing this video.

Great video. I am 3 weeks post ablation performed by one of Dr Neil Davidson’s team in Manchester UK. After suffering from A Fib and flutter for years and the side effects of beater blockers I am extremely grateful for the procedure at no cost! as we have an excellent NHS. I don’t know what I was so anxious about in and out of hospital the same day. Yes I was a little uncomfortable for a few days but hey ho! It’s onwards and upwards for me.

Coach Simons The few days after were awful as I guess the effects of the general anesthesia wore off. I had so much energy I had to walk and walk - couldn’t run or do anything more strenuous for a week because of the risk of bleeding from the sites where they put the catheters in. Then after about three days I felt like my head had cleared and I saw everything differently - in a much more positive light. I had more energy and motivation than ever before. And no more anxiety and I actually felt like the depression that had been with me my whole life was now gone. Still am feeling great and more focused than ever.

Excellent. Atrial fibrillation it's an authentic epidemic. Exist P cellulas at pulmonary veins. and the multiple mini reentrant activity occured by that.In patients without contraindications it's the most security procedure and the most benefits clinics achieve.

maryxoxo9 sorry for the late response, it went really well, no pain at all afterwards. I had a little bit of anxiety when going home and thought that they hadn’t fixed it. But for the past couple weeks it’s completely fixed. No chest pain, no high heart rate. I do have some days where my chest feels weird but when I check my heart rate it’s always beating under 100 now. I think my anxiety is what makes me still worry that something is wrong. And I am still healing so I know it won’t feel completely normal until I’m all healed. I’m glad I did the surgery, I was so close to backing out. I don’t even need to take my heart pills anymore. Even though my heart is fixed now I still continue to be clean, I stopped smoking cigarettes, weed, cocaine, and even stopped drinking caffeine. Honestly I believe the drugs are what caused my heart issues and I’m never touching them again. I know the same isn’t for everyone, not saying weed or caffeine is bad, but it definitely made my symptoms worse. I used to beat as high as 180 bpm now I’m down in the 70s. I’m so grateful for my doctor. How was your surgery? Did it go okay?
@maryxoxo9
@maryxoxo9 6 жыл бұрын
@@allisonovo I'm so glad your procedure worked and you stopped drugs!! My surgery was rough and had complications, they severed a blood vessel which bled into my abdominal wall and I ended up being admitted for a night. I'm home now and in so much pain.. I hope my experience doesnt deter anyone from getting this surgery because it was a freak accident. My chest feels fine and I'm hopeful that the arrythmias will be cured.

They have taken my ecgs at hospitals to train new staff as not everyone can pick it up on an ecg

i have had atrial fibrillation for the past 30 years. i have taken verapamil off and on over the years. i am presently taking it and it does an excellent job of controlling my heart rate and keeping my blood pressure normal. but my doctor, with my approval, has scheduled a catheter ablation in 3 weeks without ever explaining the procedure to me. i know, stupid me. but now that i have researched it online, i see no reason why i should exchange verapamil for wulferin, not to mention letting a total stranger burn the inside of my heart. these doctors are all about making money and ripping off insurance companies, but i am going to cancel that operation and stick with my verapamil.

+river rat I don't know if you ever had an ablation done. I noticed you posted this a year ago. My step sister had this done about 20 years ago and she has had no problem since. She was glad she did it. She had Wolf White Parkinson Syndrome I think? Her heartbeat would run up to 240 bpm. I have PVC's and possibly looking at having it done. I'm leery of it just like you but I don't like the idea of keeping up with daily medicines. Good luck to you. I hope all goes well.
