I didn't gain full clarity on how big Tesla will be (and EVs in general) until I bought one. I am almost certain that the average person will be driving electric in the next decade. Your average mom taking her kids to soccer practice and running errands will undeniably want the option that requires less maintenance and an easier driving experience.

Interest rates. The stocks she's buying are very sensitive to interest rates. Look what happened when the Fed dropped interest rates and turned on the money printer in 2020. Same will happen the next time.

Let's be real, her entire staff are no different than average young retail investors that buy into the hype, and make trades that sold low and bought high. They have no experience handling billions. Real fund managers should have seen the trajectory of FOMC and treasuries, make adjustments to the portfolio, instead of coming up hypothetical theories as to why inflation is not real and when her funds are failing, make excuses that their projections are 10 years out.

Tesla .. FSRN.. Fisker... Polestar... Rivian and Xos Trucks should be long-term winners in the EV sector. They will all offer completely different products and won't compete much with each other. Many OEM will find their profits from Hybrid models.

As soon as the majority of cars are EVs the cost of electricity will increase and the demand for gasoline will decrease. Running costs could normalise somewhat if the government doesn’t also increase the tax on fuel.

Cost will be cut in half probably due to tax subsidies. This is what California is doing. For whatever reason, the government really wants these things on the road. Bottom line, hydrogen cars are the future. We are already seeing major cracks in battery vehicles with repair costs, cold weather, and more. Not to mention, China now owns most lithium mines in the world. All around, the market will turn eventually on this.
