In 2019 the Roseburg Morning Rotary Club decided to provide clean water to a community and school and church in Liberia in need of safe drinking water. In the mean time, the community around the Catholic church and school had drilled multiple times to try to get a successful well, but due to the rocky and elevated terrain, all attempts failed. Thanks to the Morning group, Africa Heartwood Project drilled three times, and failed each time to get water, so, being determined to not leave the community and school without water, our team dug a well by hand, deep enough to provide water all year, and equipped it with an apron and hand pump. Now there is safe drinking water for everyone in this community, and the hundreds of students at the school, every day.
