This is funny that you mention this, as I too sing this at night to my 6 yr old when he can't sleep, as he is afraid of the dark. I tell him there is nothing to fear as we have God and our Lord Jesus Christ in our hearts, and in our home. Once I start to sing, he starts to relax and falls asleep in no time, so peacefully. It is this way: : our Farther, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on Earth, as it is in heaven, give us this day, our daily bread, and forgive us, our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us, not into temptation, but deliver us from evil for thine is a kingdom, the power and glory, forever and ever amen. when Jesus spoke on a mountain and taught his disciples to pray, He said pray to God, and God will listen, ask and he will give. He never said that you should say to God that you give us our daily bread you deliver us from evil, you forgive us et cetera. Jesus taught the prayer that asks things from God and in the middle of the verses. You can put your own problems and ask for forgiveness or thank God for what he’s done, but do not change a scripture that is a grave sin. and it is said in a Bible -the part where it was in the Bible, I don’t remember, but God said do not take anything away from these writings or do not put anything into them since that it’s a grave sin and then therefore they are not my Words anymore. That quote from the bible is not word to word accurate, but you know what I mean. never change gods words.
