@@rlrett1 The word Bible? It is a Catholic word sir, from Greek word biblos. The Epistles found in the Bible are actually Catholic Letters. If you reject the Catholic Church and anything that comes from her why are you not shunning the Bible and compile the gospels and letters sorting out the Inspired from the spurious by your own wisdom sir? 2 Peter 1:20 - interpreting Scripture is not a matter of one’s own private interpretation. Therefore, it must be a matter of “public” interpretation of the Church. The Divine Word needs a Divine Interpreter. If you accept the Bible that came from the Catholic Church as Inspired then the Church is the Divine Interpreter. The Church you walked away from sir.

I was a very lukewarm Catholic at age 25 when the JW knocked on my door. I let them in and agreed to meet with them every week. I studied 6 years with them and almost converted. But I was stuck on the Trinity, so I started reading my catechism and deepen my knowledge of my tradition. After 6 years they realized I was becoming more and more Catholic and eventually never came back. I must eternally thank them for solidifying my Catholic faith.

I also have to thank JWs for strengthening my Catholic faith. Mine is a similar story to others: JW knocked on my door, teased out of me that I had a Catholic background and then launched their attack over a number of repeat visits. Fortunately I was guided to buy the first Bible I ever owned myself and have remained a committed Catholic ever since.

Many years ago two Jehovah witnesses came to my house and we had a very short sharing which ended when I asked them who is the Lord of all? They answered Jehovah is the Lord of all. I said please read your bible in Acts10:36. When they read Jesus Christ, the Lord of all, they stopped became silent and requested to leave promising to return for further sharing. They never came back.

I have a true Catholic vs. Jehovah's Witness story, drawn from my own family. My mother and my 2 sisters from my mother's first marriage were/are Jehovah's Witnesses. My father was a Catholic, and of the four of us children, I was the only one who attended church with Dad. My dad encouraged me to go to school, make good grades and search for a job that would be both rewarding to my spirit as well as pay well. He also tried to instill these values in my sisters, but their religion taught them (and to this day, many JWs deny having taught this) that "This system of things is gonna end no later than 1970" so why worry about inconsequential stuff like education, earning money, etc. In the end, my sisters live/lived in poverty; the eldest one and her JW husband (who was a staunch advocate of the above doctrine) having both died in the last year. All their hopes and dreams of living to see and enjoy that "New system of things" which both adamantly believed would come long BEFORE they even reached the age of 40. Yet they both died at SEVENTY-EIGHT last year, barely able to pay their monthly expenses, flat broke their ENTIRE LIVES, while every minute sure in their hearts that "New System" was gonna be here BEFORE they died. All that needless suffering, all the wonderful opportunities to set and achieve realistic life goals, and for WHAT? To live a LIE! To live HALF a life, waiting in vain for something that NEVER HAPPENED! How happy I am today at 65 years old, sitting in a nice home I own, with a good pension and Social Security to keep me comfortable to the end of my days, and all of it thanks to the principles I was taught by my Catholic Dad, who in turn was taught them by the Catholic Church. THANKS, DAD! THANK YOU, CATHOLIC CHURCH! 😊👍

Matthew 6: 14 is CONDITIONAL forgiveness VS Ephesian 4:31 is UNCONDITIONAL forgiveness! Now If God has forgiven us for Christ sake our sins, where does confession come in? Where does the office of priest come in? Paul in his 13 letters never mentions priest or priesthood! When he sends of Timothy and Titus, never mentions Priest or priesthood or water baptism! On the other Hand the Book of Hebrews mentions the word priest or priesthood 34 times! Paul never refers to Christ as the High priest! What are your thoughts on this! God bless You!

The Jehovah witness USED to come to my door regularly. But I think that they will no longer come to my door. Reasons 1. They asked my religion. I told them Catholic and my maternal grandmother and Catholic convert to Catholicism. 2. They asked if I have a Bible and read it. I said wait. I brought them my Catholic Bible and I was so dog eared and well used. 3. They asked me have I found Jesus. I replied. “ I never knew He was ever lost “. They were stunned. I told them I wake up to God ( Jesus) and carry Him through out my day. I go to Sunday Mass and daily Mass and adoration. I go to several Bible studies. We believe in Evangelization. 4. I asked then you want to come to Mass with me in the one true church that God Himself and died on a cross for our salvation. They left in a stupor and never returned.

I had a Jehovah’s Witness tell me that we were the miracles. Lol. I’ve never left the Catholic Church. Even though the priest at my Mother’s parish refused to baptize me as a baby because I was born out of wedlock. My parents weren’t married. So I stayed with a church that I felt didn’t want me. In fact even though I took CCD classes as a kid. As a young adult I went through RCIA classes to get baptized and make my first communion.

Yup, Jehovah's Witness are trained in a particular sales pitch and if you can derail them off of that track, they are almost always at an utter loss. That said, be kind, be charitible, be loving, but above all, be true.

Thank you for this video: I let the JW into my home yesterday convinced I would be able to debate scripture with them only to find out my knowledge was limited big time… I was unable to answer many of her basic questions, to which she responded quoting various bible verses that taken out of context made sense. I was the same way 30 years ago when I first started all of this when I encountered Jehovah's witnesses. Yes, I don't know about saving a limited knowledge, but the Jehovah's witnesses are actually experts at twisting the scriptures, and they've been programmed to present it in a certain way which they've memorized. So unless you're familiar with that way, it sounds very convincing. But I know they kicked my butt the first time I met them and I won a deep search for my Faith which led me here today teaching others. Thank you so much dear kind gentleman. I was a crazy J.W. For about 19yrs of my life. I left the Catholic Church. I am not a cradle Catholic. Grew up in England in the Church of England. Married. Young U.S. Air Force man. We were married in England. Came over here and lived with his parents while he served in Vietnam. Such a hard year. We have a wonderful son and daughter. Divorced after 17yrs of marriage. My first or second husband was not Catholic. I worked for this nice lady who was and still is a J.W. My second marriage was not going well. I have always missed England so much. Biggest mistake of my life. My biggest regret not going to my dear daughters wedding. She got married on the West coast. Would have loved to have gone. The elders told me no. About a year before my reconversion I started to watch EWTN. The Journey home. Last step going to my youngest Godchild’s wedding 8/16/2014. The day after the assumption of Our Lady. She got married in a beautiful Catholic Church. The next day went to mass and I was back into the Catholic Church. Yes I went to confession and went through R.C.I.A. So very blessed to be back in the Church. I pray my son and daughter will return to the Catholic Church.

Great story! You had me laughing out loud !!! A Roman Catholic well versed in the Bible and church tradition is a terror for Protestants. I was raised Catholic and received a full parochial education. While I’m not an expert, I was mediocre to decent in my knowledge, when I received a couple of Jehovah’s witnesses who knocked on my door. I admit that these guys knew scripture and were very solid and persuasive in their presentation. They gave me a watchtower book, which I read through. Like in your case this led me to research both JW and my Catholic faith. It’s important to study and know what Catholicism teaches, because there are many smooth talking, seemingly knowledge people luring weak minded people into false religions.

I had a JW student in my class a few years ago. I’m Catholic and teach at my mom’s preschool. He had a sweet as pie family but they were so distraught about our Easter party that they didn’t send him on that day. Meanwhile all the other little children learned that day about how Jesus died for us and opened heaven for us that day. But they didn’t want him to hear about heaven or to celebrate Jesus’s resurrection. It really broke my heart and I think about it often.

True this. Part of the false and evil gospel taught by Watchtower, and only starting in the time of Judge Rutherford, is that only 144,000 be in heaven with Jesus. Everyone else looks forward to living on an earthly petting zoo. Charles Rutherford would have been disfellowshipped for believing that all would be in heaven, and when Jesus came to inspect all the religions, they were evidently teaching this in error. Watchtower roams about trying to interpret a Trinitarian book. Taking 144,000 in a literalist way, Watchtower ignores that these 144,000 were celibate Israelite men. In the end, Witnesses say that they follow the bible when in fact, they follow the interpretation of that bible - fallible it is - by a man-made organization, led by 8 uninspired men. Most Witnesses don't have the courage to read the bible on their own, without the reliance of their Watchtower telling them how to interpret it.

It's a figurative, not literal number, saying that the full number of Israelites will be saved, the 12 tribes times the 12 apostles times 1000 which is a number representing completeness. It's not speak neither to EVERYONE who will be saved. One ALSO reads of the Great Multitude that no one could count. "why are you a catholic" Because I am convinced both that it is the Church established by Jesus Christ and of the doctrinal truth it espouses.

Great story! I had a friend 25 years ago who was raised Catholic then became a JW. I was in the midst of converting from S. Baptist to Catholic at the time. We were coworkers, too and she almost ended our friendship because I was becoming Catholic in preparation to my marriage to a cradle Catholic, even though she had been “excommunicated”. I spent several years reading, going to churches of many denominations seeking truth. My friend did end up coming to my wedding. She sat in the very back hiding under a huge hat holding her little JW book.

If jesus didn't want us to start churches, then wouldn't that mean that whatever church you are apart of is against god's will? In response the the sowing parable I am not quite sure what you mean by using this passage but here is what it means. Sowing of seed is creation of adam and eve. the sowing of the bad seed represents sin entering our lives and ultimately the world. The fall of man in the garden. The growing period is representative of god's mercy in that he didn't want to pull any of the weeds lest it would be dificult to tell them apart. We all ultimately each have some sin in us and oftentimes it can be difficult to say whether or not we are more like wheat or a weed. The period of harvest depicts the end of the world as depicted in the book of revelation. Additionaly this is further supported by Genesis 19:32 when Abraham was talking to God about the city of Sodom "But he persisted: 'Please, do not let my Lord be angry if I speak up this last time. What if 10 I found there?' for the sake of the 10 he replied I will not destroy it". Praying for you

At first when they knocked on my door, I would just send them away. We are not misleading anyone. You are with your new Gospel, not the one of Christ. Mt. 18 distinguishes between 2 and 3 people and "The Church". The church is not just two or three people. The Church is the people of God, yes, but also has authority, Apostles, bishops, deacons, the laying on of hands, baptism, etc. If people do not have these things, they do not have church and are not in the church.

One thing which does annoy me about some Roman Catholics (and I'm a RC myself) are those who believe the Roman Catholic church is the only true church. We are only one of some 22 (I believe that's the correct number) of churches in communion with the Holy see. Yes the Latin church is by far the biggest but the eastern Catholic churches are totally valid and in communion. As St Pope JP2 said 'The church breathes with both lungs'. Roman Catholics should experience other Catholic rites and we can fulfill our obligations by receiving the sacraments of the eastern Catholic churches. I personally love worshipping at the Ukrainian Catholic cathedral in London. The liturgy like Gregorian chant is awesome.

I finally figured out what bugs me about the Jehova's Witnesses. It's this... they keep on contradicting Jesus! Things like, "I and the Father are one"; "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise"; "That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it". For each of these *direct* quotes from the Boss, they have an elaborate story for why he "didn't really mean it like that". This is what bugs me. If there's *anyone* who should be considered an expert on Christianity, it's Jesus, right?

I love this video ❤ I too was weak in my faith and got into a relationship with a guy who was raised JW. Upon meeting his mother who is very devout I began researching EVERY what they believe and what Catholic Church teaches us to believe. This only strengthened my faith and helped me to understand that the Catholic Church was indeed founded by Christ and His true church. I am a cradle Catholic and in my youth dated a cradle JW girl, they seemed nice people from the outside, but just to remember how terrified this girl was that her family found out about us is shocking. I mean, I understand that a teenange girl could get nervous about having her BF meet her parents, but she used to almost have panic attacks just about the thoughs that one of her family members would see us walking on the street. The JW made more curious about my own Catholic faith - and researching and studying - it only strengthened my Catholic faith. If they come to knock on my door (rarely these days) - I also raise these questions of false predictions. They generally leave very quickly. A long time ago a former Catholic JW came knotting on the door and my 5 year old daughter then answered their questions about the Catholic faith - they left arguing between themselves. I was nearly converted to JW too. I spent a year doing Bible studies and working through their book 'What does the the Bible actually teach'. It's appealing because it appeals to your logic, it takes human reasoning and applies it to God and the Bible. It's a religion for people that lack true faith in God and so instead they trust their own logic more and the logic of the watchtower organisation. They worship the organisation, not God. And unlike the Catholic Church, that serves God and it's members, the watchtower organisation serves itself.

My favorite verse(s) in scripture to use with Witnesses to show the Divinity of Jesus are Isaiah 6 and John 12. Is 6 is Isaiah's vision of Jehovah on the throne. John 12 starting in v37 or so, attributes Isaiah's vision to seeing JESUS. Jesus is the HE, HIM that Isaiah spoke to - that the authorities feared believing in for fear of the Pharisees. In sharing this verse, I have had two witnesses in the last 6 months actually delete their posts AND delete their youtube channel. They do so because they fear being wrong, and can not explain John 12. The NWT has not be corrupted; the meaning in their own bible shows the same. While seeds may be planted, one still must desire truth - and the Holy Spirit must do the converting of the human heart and intellect.

Ok first, I'm the woman who was a Mormon for 40 years but am now a Catholic coming up on 3 years now. The Mormons truly believe that the church is what Jesus rebuilt after all other churches, including the Catholics, had fallen away from the true teachings of Christ. The teaching is that Joseph Smith went into a grove and asked God which was the true church and an angel, Moroni, came down and spoke to him. Now you know how so many people could be led to the Mormon Church. Why anyone would be led to the JW church...no idea!

Whether you read a history book or read the gospels, you will find that Jesus was a Jew who prayed to and worshiped the God of Israel. The claim of the first followers was that Jesus was the Messiah, the SON of God. That is why 1200 times, Jesus is differentiated from God. That is why twenty times the NT tells us that Jesus had a God. Even in Rev 3 :12, the glorified Lord Jesus in heaven talks about his God, four times in one verse. I think that if you really study honestly the writings of the pre- Nicean Church Fathers, you will find that they were all subordinationists. They knew nothing of the Trinity doctrine as it is taught today and many standard reference works freely admit that the doctrine evolved over time. History is written by the winners.

Just to correct one thing, if you don't mind. Mormons, many Mormons at least, believe Jesus is divine. They believe He is another God. In fact the Mormon website says that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are three different gods. So, that's a heresy of a different kind. :)

They have no issue with Jesus being described as divine, or even god or a god. Indeed, according to the Bible, others are identified as Gods/gods including angels; Hebrew Kings; Judges; Moses and even the Devil. In the Second temple period, angels were viewed as divine beings. So the divinity issue comes down to semantics. However, they do not believe Jesus to be the Father or Jehovah, who they see as God Almighty. 2) Interestingly, the JWs use Col 1 :15-17 as a proof text to show that Jesus was the first born of all creation. and is the image of God and so NOT God. The other texts you mention have issues with translation and can be and are translated differently in many other Bibles. Clearly those with a trinitarian bias will translate them accordingly, although it has to be said that even some Trinitarian publishing houses do not translate these verses with a Trinitarian bias showing that they possibly / probably are better translated the other way.. 3) You mention Heb 1 :8. This is a quote from the OT and id translated the way the Watchtower translated it in many Bibles. I'm afraid your accusation about that they mess about or change the text is without foundation, unless you are going to make the same accusation against some of the other Bibles and some of our greatest scholars who render these verses similar to the Watchtower.. Too often people just repeat the misinformation they hear elsewhere. If you wish an impartial scholarly comparison of various Bibles, I suggest the book: " truth In Translation." You can access it for free online.

Hi Everyone. Please please please pray for my mother and father. They converted to jw when I was very young and raised my siblings and I in the cult. My mom grew up catholic and had many questions but she was not assisted by her parish priest so she went looking into different religions. She eventually joined jws with my father and has the signature jw disdain for the Catholic Church. I have left the religion and have very limited contact with my parents because I left. The only way to get them out is a miracle. I have absolute faith that that miracle will come our Lord Jesus. Please pray for them. ❤ All my siblings and I have left. We are at various stages of coming to Christ. So please pray for us too.

I truly love all your content! I recently came across a video explaining the "history" of the Nazarene church. it's about a 6 minute video (maybe less), anyway, they start out by basically saying that there was a "pure" historical church until 1054 when the great schism happened. They're saying that "that's " when the Catholic church started, in 1054. Can you help me address this huge error?? My husband is Nazarene who is very open to learning about the Catholic faith. That doesn't make any sense. Anyone can see that there have been popes, Catholic Popes long before 1054. Pope Gregory the Great in the 5th Century for example. One of my best friend is JW, and the other day he agreed to have a debate about, Idolatry, we debate for 3 days, and the final punch was to Bible verses, Leviticus 19,4 and Deuteronomy 7,25, he run like the dog, with his tail under the legs. I have a question from my girlfriend and I hope anyone here is able to help me answer, she asked me if demons and/or the devil himself can hurt us? And if so, how, physically or emotionally? Answer from the Catholic Truth team: Yes, the devil and his demons can hurt us and there are different levels of that. At the most basic level, he tempts us to sin which can hurt us in different ways, especially mortal sin which is complete separation from God. At the highest level is demonic possession which is real but rare. Then there are other ways like obsession, where the devil attacks you at the thought level to the point where you think your going crazy, or at the body level where he can physically harm you. This is called oppression. There are different types of demonic attacks. My grandfather was a devout Catholic .He lived in the early 1900’s and passed away in the mid 60ies. The Catholic Church pews were full of loved ones , he was a local businessman. At one point during his funeral , a candle rose up and came back down. People were in disbelief. There’s only one true church .

I am Catholic and also have experience with JW's in my wife's family. I find these folks unable to do very little for community, the neighborhood, town and country. Very separate and imo, the enemy thrives on division. They seems cultish and hollow to me...not what Jesus taught at all. Jesus is key

Because it says bring 2 or 3 people and then distinguishes that from "The Church." The church is not just two or three people. The Church is the people of God, yes, but also has authority, Apostles, bishops, deacons, the laying on of hands, baptism, etc. If people do not have these things, they do not have church and are not in the church. The Catholic Church did meet in people's houses at first, and there are many Catholic Churches in Italy that have parts that are 2000 years old. They have the original places people met in the houses as still part of the church.

@@billybari8081 the reason why the Catholic church is the only true church is because it was started by Jesus on the rock of Peter with the apostles as the first Bishops of the church. The Orthodox broke away and 1054 ad, the Coptic broke away in the seventh century, and the Protestants broke away in the 15th century. Every other Church other than the Catholic church is man-made. Now you have people who don't even claim to be part of it to nomination and just go by the Bible and basically make themselves their own Pope and Magistrate. But that is unbiblical.

I have been a Presbyterian for 70 yrs, and my wife has been a Catholic for 70 yrs. We both read the Bible daily and attend each other's churches. But....we have two very good friends who are JW's, so I enjoyed and agreed with your video very much. Don't worry, we will never become a JW, and I'm not sure if the best Presbyterian theologian and the best Catholic priest could make these people see that there is a trinity, and they are not the 144,000, and there is no paradise earth. But they still remain good friends, and we do pray for them. My wife then watched and enjoyed your video very much.

For years my home was blacklisted by the Jehovah Witnesses. Why? One time I asked a young man who approached me while I was planting flowers. He introduced himself and gave his opening spiel. I listened and said, "May I ask you a question?" He replied "sure." I asked "You folks believe that Jesus is a reincarnation of Michael the Archangel, don't you? What evidence do you have of that, where is it in the Bible?" He responded, "You're a Wiseguy!" And ran off. When JWs and Mormons visit I offer to listen while they tell me I should join their church, with one caveat. They then need to listen to me tell them why Roman Catholicism is the Church founded by Jesus Christ, and why Catholicism is true. Not one has ever accepted my offer.

I don't know if you saw the Leah Remini show on Scientology. There was a whole series on it exposing the cult. However, she also did a show in the same manner on Jehovah's Witnesses. She had a whole bunch of former Jehovah's Witnesses on the show who all talked about why they left, the abuse they faced, and the struggles they have still because of it all. It was very eye-opening.

I became Catholic 1 year ago and just 20 mins ago two JW came to my door and they made me think about converting. I’m still a new Catholic questioning things and I almost believed them! They wanted me to repeat words claiming Jesus’s name is Jehovah. I wouldn’t say it aloud! One thing I do find hard to understand is Jesus being God in the Catholic Church. Why? These are the greatest idolaters who adopted the doctrine of the Trinity from ancient Egypt (Isis, Horus, Osiris). God is spirit (John 4:24) and not a man (Numbers 23:19). You wouldn’t believe how many people get the doctrine of the immaculate conception wrong here in ahem... “Catholic” Ireland. Context : It’s always when I ask, are you pregnant? And then I have to correct them. But honestly, as I have posted elsewhere, lately I have been having doubts, that’s why I have come here. I need to ask why this doctrine exists. I see no reason why Mary had to be sinless and I see nothing written that says that she is. Can you help?

In short, God chose to make Mary sinless. He didn't necessarily need to. But the Immaculate Conception is not about Mary. It's about Jesus. It's about the fact that Jesus is God Almighty, the eternal wisdom, the second person of the Trinity who is perfectly pure and holy. And so God prepared his Tabernacle ahead of time so Mary could sinlessly bare the sinless son of God. We need a video on this topic if you are interested. Well, I worry about doctrines we simply follow in church. Take the council that had to gather together to decide on the trinity. There were monotheistic Christians FOR SURE who did not believe in the trinity (first jews) and then we have Marcion. Then 300 or so years later we have to sit around and the trinity is real. All these little things. What happened to that fish on Friday thing? What worries me as well is other things like papal infallinity. I’m catholic. But I think that’s wrong

Every Christian unanimously believed in the Divinity of Christ and the trinity except for a few people who broke away from the Christian church and started to teach something else. Like Marcion. A century later it would be sibelius. A century after that it would be Arius who was the Catholic priest. So there were one or two people in each Century, but every other Christian believe in the Trinity and the Divinity of Christ. That's why the Catholic Church did not need to make the doctrine of the trinity, for it was already part of the Christian church. But somebody started to deny it and to doubt it, and to teach others that it was wrong, and so in order that Christians could be assured of the truth without confusion, they proclaimed it officially in Doctrine. This only happens when people doubt something in the faith. But it was believed too long before the council. As for the Immaculate Conception here. In the Catholic Church there are dogmas, doctrines, and disciplines. Dogmas and doctrines come from God and cannot change. Disciplines are different costumes that change at different times and places in history. And that's not a bad thing. Eating meat on Fridays is a discipline that was changed. The doctrine is that you still have to sacrifice something on Friday out of love for God, but it doesn't have to be meet. The church wanted people to give up something out of love for Christ, not just because they had to. And lastly, people infallibility which we will have a video on soon, this just comes from our lord Jesus who promised to send the holy spirit to guide the church into all truth. Not some truth, all truth. For the church is the pillar and Foundation of truth according to 1 Timothy 3:15. Also, Jesus said he would be with the church until the end of time to guide it. So we believe that Jesus guides and protects his church from making errors and to teaching wrong doctrines. Papal infallibility does not mean that whatever the Pope says is true. It's not true. And a lot of what a pope could say might not be true. But when he's saying something infallibly, which is very rare, and he proclaims it worldwide on the seat of Peter, we believe that the Holy Spirit guides him to protect the truth that Christ has handed on to us. The pope can't contradict the Bible or anything like that. It's all guided by the Holy Spirit. Hope that helps.

I’m still very trouble, brother. But thank you. The trouble I have is the terrible cognitive dissonance I’m experiencing, having been Catholic, all my life, and I suspect I’m older than you - I hope I am which means you’re likely to have more time on this earth :) And then looking at then reading the bible. Actually reading each gospel, not the more relaxed piecemeal manner like the Sunday gospel readings - and certainly not like JW’s who I understand use workbooks to selectively pick and choose what they want. Reading Mark to see the way Jesus hides his nature. Contrast that with John. And then looking at the historical record of what books came first. I was totally shocked to find Paul who never met Jesus got first dibs in what to say. We know Peters can’t be true cos he could not write Greek. So all we have is Paul’s view. That disturbs me greatly. Because at this time. Until Paul writes things down, we don’t really know what Christianity is. Despite being Catholic, looking at all the conflicting and sparse accounts, therefore having the heavy heart of having to dissect the gospels as they were written after Paul and can be proven to have taken on taint, they cannot be reliable. Yes, I believe the gospel’s are not reliable. They were chosen to promote Paul’s ideas. We put Matthew first but we know Mark is likely the earliest of the lot and it ends with an empty tomb and scattered women. ... And an addendum which we know was added later. So we know they were edited. More proof of this is the adulterous woman in John. I’ll grant this story is not changing the message greatly, but it just goes to show how fallible scripture is. And we don’t have anything else but Paul. I recap again the gospels are an amalgamation of items of truth here and there and .. items put in for other purposes. Matthew 5:17. I believe Jesus probably said that. Mark. Saying to keep quiet about whom he was probably is true too. He probably really believed he was the messiah and would get hauled up and crucified NOT because of the Jews but because of the Romans. Mixed in with clear propaganda. How kind they paint the Romans in the gospel. we know historically they crucified political dissidents. We know Pilate was cruel. We know why it was done though, to make the message more palatable to the gentiles, Paul’s plan. Lookit, Jesus said in Matthew not to even go to the Samaritans - this I believe he really said. But other parts, like how they distance Pilate and the Romans from his execution. Inexplicable. Hah. No Jew (thus follower of Jesus) went in to the praetorium where Jesus was interrogated by Pilate - the gospel of John states that. So how did they know what to write? My brother, I think there is a big gap we’re missing. I have no doubt the JW’s got it terribly wrong. But I think we’re not that much better with our own dogma. At least however we allow blood and don’t shun. Oh wait, blood... that brings up the Eucharist. Last supper. Last on before I go. Either Jesus died on Pesach (Synoptics) or the day before (John). How do you explain that ?
