What beautiful, spectacular places of worship, all for the glory of God. When we consider that these churches were built many centuries ago, made not by machine but the hands of masters in their crafts make them all more remarkable. The accompanying music adds up to total perfection.

After 65 years searching and hearing this for the first time, I believe I have finally discovered musical perfection. I am not exaggerating.

I love this hymn too. Helps me nap. And, from what I've read, it was important historically, as the legal battle after it was published was won by his publisher, opening up church music more for Russian composers. But, perfection? I can't agree. Not even remotely my favorite piece by him or others. But, to each their own tastes.

This hymn is absolutely divine, of celestial beauty, seems to be sung by angels. Tchaikosvky must have be heavenly inspired to compose this.

WOW!!!!! This is simply stunning... and it opens up for me, an entirely new side of Tchaikovsky that oddly enough i had not known of until this very moment!!!! This is so..... so RUSSIAN and yet its also thoroughly European in the mainstream of the "Western Musical Tradition": an incredibly artful synthesis of east and west, and so VERY well performed as well!!! My breath is taken from me.
@bizintin11 жыл бұрын
Makes me so happy you should share this "this stunning art.." I could weep over the joy of the art, music, song, chant,Tchaikovsky. In the West I have never heard Tchaikovsky's great, soaring music that rings in my soul, uplifting, healing, and knowing a greater sense of God's love for me, for us.

Thank you so much! This is beautifully done. The sacred music is absolutely perfect. The images and the music create a moment of transcendence from this world into the realm of the eternal. I owe you a debt of gratitude, as I'd never heard Tchaikovsky's setting of the Cherubic Hymn.....as a church musician, I believe this piece achieves that perfect balance between deep peace and soaring harmonies. Deo Gratias.
