I remember reading a quote from a saint that said something along the lines of "No one's sins are big enough that it should keep someone from salvation via repentance, but rather it is one's lacking of faith" It's ok to be weary of your sins, in fact I'd say it's a virtue, but DO NOT lack faith or limit in God's benevolent mercy. He is the ultimate authority on whether you go to heaven or not, don't decide your destiny for Him.

And we require the benevolence of our merciful loving Father in heaven on high. But making people fallible, then punishing us when we fail? Seriously? One of these is not using the gifts God in his divine wisdom has given us. A scintillating example of this is that I have a potentially extraordinary singing voice, one that can encompass all eight registers of the choir (from bass to full soprano) plus double bass. I take joy in singing along to this beatifically exquisite marvel to our ears. However, due to physical disabilities, I lack the resources for the training necessary to develop it to a productive state. The bitterest irony to this is that had I years ago received said tutelage, I likely would have transcended my physical limitations; I might have been able to ameliorate at least some of them. Even more, I could have been in a position to raise up others in generally similar circumstances, to bring them to a sense of functionality, purpose, participation, and fulfilment. This I would have done anonymously (perhaps through the Church), in Our Father's Holy Name.
