This version still sounds like late eighties house music. Stripped down and minimal, Keys, drum snares and vocals. It's great. The version done for the U.S. version was mixed by Shep Pettibone who was gaining fame for his production and making a deeper sound with basslines, Check out Madonna's Erotica LP and remix for Janet Jackson's 'Alright'. Shep even went on to produce Cathy's second album.

This song is yet to be revealed by generation Z. All is needed, they need to include into some stupid netflix movie, or TV series, and it will get 40M in few months.

One of my all-time fave songs and I used to spin this as a DJ. However, I never heard this version with the extra verse!

Cathy should have been huge, and this song should have BLOWN UP! LOVE this version, you can really hear her vocals. Her songs hold up even now.

What do you mean? She WAS huge.

Sounds cool, but, the "other" version seemed to be more "mainstream." But, I love Cathy Dennis' work. She's very talented! She ROCKS!!!!!

I used to work on this Waltzer and remember building it up for this video shoot in '99. Was a strange build up as we were asked to leave the roof panels off so they could shoot through the roof, though they never did. The spinning roof was not something that we used all the time. In the 5 years i worked on it we only used the spinning roof about 3 other times.

I have a feeling it was 1991 here in the UK certainly early 90 or 91. And, contrary to popular belief, it is NOT Rick Astley singing on backing, it is Danny-D from D-Mob

...Cathy, serving 'Lisa Stansfield imitating Ann Magnuson' REALNESS!! ...ha-HAA!! ...Cathy was really on the ball with late 80's Chicago House stylings, with a Soul II Soul vibe.....VERY ahead of her time.....

The cool thing about this video is you get to appreciate her beauty a little more than her other vids. They were usually too bright and her hair was down covering her face.

These lyrics are the published ones. The US release repeated the 2nd verse for the 3rd. Cathy is abfab and very successful in the UK.

Although it really does sound a lot like Rick Astley, if you look at the album sleeve, it has Danny D as backup on the song.
