Caught this on replay. You are so fun to watch and listen to, I thoroughly enjoy your chattiness and humor. I can relate with you about being uncomfortable calling it a studio (it is a studio by the way) as we had my brother in law build a built in book case in what I call the “front room”. My husband started calling it the “library”…LIBRARY! 🤦🏼‍♀️😬🤣. It’s like 8’x9’! Anyway, I nipped that word in the bud. It’s now either the front room or his office. I can’t even fathom saying “oh it’s in the library” 🤣🤣. Anyway, ADORABLE card!! My heart goes out to you and your family, sending hugs and prayers.

So on the paper-consider what the biggest size you use on regular basis. E.g. perhaps half size paper sheets might be a great size because you can fold cards for card bases, and cut it for card fronts. You can take reams of paper to a printer and have the cut down for cheap. With that, you would need to accommodate your reams when you buy paper in bulk, and the some kind of storage solution that holds half sheets. Wouldn’t take up much room. And then something to store cut up sizes for slim and mini slim since it’s on a much smaller scale.

Great live, even in the replay. I hear you about the older home. Mine was built in 1890 (nope, that's not a typo). Always some sort of upkeep, but it keeps me busy. After 54+ years with my hubby, he suddenly passed towards the end of 2021. Since then my sister has moved in to keep me company...kids didn't want mom staying alone. Truth is they wanted someone to keep tabs on me. I attempt to do it all myself, usually know when to call uncle. I had an old pipe rust out and so I took down the pantry wall, ceiling and all the insulation. I did have a plumber replace the cast iron pipe and then I rebuilt the pantry. I love my craft tools and I love me some heavy duty tools too. Got my sister into crafting. We don't go out much either, grocery shopping is a big outing for us. LOL Long time subscriber here and hope to be back more often with things settling down a little now with winter approaching. Your new space sounds like it is going to be perfect for you. Can't wait for the tour.

You need to get yourself a harbor freight tool magnetic cup, to throw your dies in and keep track of them until you put them in storage. They have a couple sizes. I have one for orphan dies til I find out what set they belong to. I love your chatty mode, by the way! :)

The boom mic is working perfectly. The sound is very good. The nice thing about how the boom is working for you is when you turn your head you're not losing a lot of sound like you can when you have a lapel mic on. Just a thought. :) Loved the card, simple adorableness. Also I got a Studio Katia wax tool for the blingy bits and I was wondering what the metal tip was for... I guess just moving them around. So simple.

Hi Cathy! I missed the live because I was out placing an order for things for my new studio space. Yes, I've wrestled with what to call it for years, but I'm a freelance graphic designer and work (and play) in it, so studio seems right, aside form my hesitancy about it sounding pretentious. I was chiming in with so much of what you were saying - we have so much in common. I bought my first Mac (a lovely "fishbowl" SE/30) in 1990 while I was still in college (Apple did student loans to suck us in and I loved the idea of not having to hike to the computer lab all the time.), Same bras - that's all I wear right now as much as I can get away with it. Same issues of trying to decide how to use my new space, but agree that non-wobbly table and good lighting are HIGH on the list. I'll keep your family in my thoughts for peace and comfort for Dan's father...

Cathy, we are all so excited for how excited you are with your new space. I had to give up my craft area during the pandemic because I needed a place to work from home. Have been crafting in my very small dining area since then (kindred spirits!). Have not been able to relocate to a better spot and it's frustrating!

Crank outs-how charming! I worked in restaurants with lots of hard surfaces. You could try some ceiling tile (for sound absorption) or carpeting under your table. As in under the flip side of your table top. I’m glad you love your space! Most of us can’t move into new houses with designated studios, or have them built for us.

@@czdesign I was thinking about the sound absorption. You know Johnny Carson’s desk for years was egg crates with color sprayed over, for sound absorption! I don’t know it could have been a cheap set design! I’m just thinking of you having to put quilts etc. on your floor so your sound is good. I guess you could also look into putting the acoustic tiles on your ceiling.🥴😝 Your room sounds like it will be a real reflection of you, beautiful!

Why must these people feel they have to leave a nasty comment when it’s not their cup of tea. Just move on people and find the crafter who is your cup of tea. There are plenty of them out there. Life is to short. Just zip it and move on already. We who love to come here are here because we love Cathy! Plus she is very gifted and teaches us tons. We are getting together with a FRIEND. Hi, Kathy! Love the new studio. I’ve been looking at that Autumn Knits set for a bit now and you just put me over the top. Do I need it? NO. BUT it’s just so darn cute and the pink ombré sealed the deal. Ordered✔️ UGH LOL
