Funny how you talked about Dirty Dancing…I was there last week at Mountain Lake Lodge for my company Christmas lunch. It’s a beautiful place not far from where I live. I’ve only seen the movie once and this was my first time ever visiting where it was filmed, even though it’s always been so close. We don't really exchange gifts in our family either. I still buy for the nieces & nephews, but the rest of us make a homemade gift and we number the gifts and we each draw a number to see the order we pick the gifts. I've made ornaments in the past but this year I made a latch hook pillow throw. Hi. This is too long but I’ve got some opinions lol I think you would have more success in cutting paper with the Empress if you cut into your magnetic mat and not the way you did it in this video. I’ve honestly never seen anyone cut the way you do. I’ve used this machine for years and never really have a problem. When cutting something like this I would have used the shim bc of the adhesive. And I don’t have to replace my plates because they stay pretty clean by not cutting into them. I do replace the magnetic mat once or twice a year. I think they way you cut here didn’t give the die enough underneath it to be able to cut. Hope you don’t mind.
