Do you unpeel the gel pad or leave the plastic part on to pull back the lashes?

Unpeel!!! It needs to have the little bit of moisture to stick :) Hope that helps

I def had those fears when I was starting out.. lol!!! But I try to make sure that the tweezers are angled downward (toward's clients nose) instead of pointing directly towards their eyes. EEEK
