I appreciate Catplant still does her video game stuff like this. I really enjoy listening to her little video game banters and takes. The steam deck review and overwatch 2 gameplay was really nice to listen to while I grinded in bravely default 2 the other morning before work.

The definition of Nostalgia is a sentimentality for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations. These magazines remind me of being a kid and playing my PS. Not a worry in the world. Just being blissfully lost in what was the best era of gaming EVER. Crash Team Racing, MGS, Final Fantasy, Legend of Dragoon... man... games had a level of charm that's just been lost these days.

I really wish you did more of these CatPlant. For some reason the sounds of your lips parting, your gentle voice, and the pages folding and crinkling put me right to sleep.

I miss these magazines, too bad they are completely gone in my country. Nothing like waiting a whole month to buy my favourite magazine, reading about new stuff, previews, what games were worth buying, the posters, the demos...everything. Relaxing to nostalgia is something else. Great video.

One of my biggest regrets is not holding onto all of my gaming magazines. Or at least like...a dozen or so from each publication. I'm just as much of a gaming fan as I was back then, and it's such a cool time capsule-type thing to flip through them and see how games were covered back then. Watching videos like this is the next best thing, especially when the person has had a similar experience with the games.

It’s so cool you do these. It’s such a fun, relaxing trip down memory lane. We’re the same age but your memory is better than mine when it comes to some of the more obscure games here. Also some of those advertisements, lol. It was a different time, that’s for sure!
@boyblob2 жыл бұрын
I didn't start buying gaming magazines until the early 2000s. I remember our school library had a subscription to Nintendo Power which is what got me into gaming magazines in general. Then I would usually read as much as I could whenever my dad would drive to the local Barnes and Noble where he would spend time drinking coffee and let me go wild in the magazine section. I don't have too many of the magazines back from that decade anymore, but the thing that's really amusing is the ads which sometimes are just insane. I love print media, but I totally get why gaming magazines died here in the States outside of a few (or the super niche). For me the end of EGM (the original incarnation) was sort of the end of gaming magazines for me. Comfy nostalgia seeing this video.

Catplant. I hope you feel better. I am glad you are back. The 1990s gaming magazines was a great idea. Thank you for showing me the PlayStation Resident Evil 3 Nemesis Magazine with 40 hot new games which includes a psychological test and readers’ art. Turning the pages and tapping on the pages gave me tingles. In the GamePro Mortal Kombat magazine there are a lot of sports games and a Final Fantasy update. The third magazine is a PSM 100% independent magazine. We see Laura from Tomb Raiders 3 and PlayStation 2. Devil Dice looks like a lot of fun. We also have Clock Tower 2 and Colony Wars. Duke Nukem and Croc 2 also look like a lot of fun. These were the good old days. So many good memories and so many fun games Princess. I really enjoyed this video. Take care and I hope to see you soon.

Gaming magazine from a time before the Journos stopped caring about gaming and made everything about themselves lmao Seeing that little Y2K part there brought back some memories, the scare mongering around "The Millennium Bug" was insane, there were so many gimmicky software programs etc sold to "combat" it - people must've made a small fortune out of that lol.
