I honestly think this movie helped mould my taste in music, watching as a kid. Especially this number, its got that 30's-40's rythmic sound. This and nothings gonna stop us now are definitely my favorites. Totally underrated film.

Since I only saw the movie last year, I can't really say with nostalgia. But since I already love jazz, big band is straight up some amazing music! Especially in this song! Especially, especially when you consider a part of this song was also played earlier in ragtime!

That is one of the things I always appreciated about this movie. it was animated and all of the screenplay, scenes, and of course songs, were set up as if it was a Broadway stage show which made it a refreshing and unique animated film that presents itself in ways most other animated musicals don't.

It was the first, last, and only film from Turner Feature Animation. Unfortunately, Warner bought Turner, and saw Cats Don’t Dance as competition to their own products that they did not want. So Warner essentially stuck it in the basement. It was NOT a WB product.

Now that's hilarious, having some fun dissing your girl for a bit, and before you know it, Sawyer closed up the ladder Danny was on and he fell into a costume box so they can dress up in snazzy clothes from the 40s that makes Mardi Gras look and feel like Carnevale came out of a wardrobe malfunction that makes it feel like you're groovy and awesome.

You can try looking up big band jazz artists, like Glen Miller. But looking up songs from old Disney films from the 40's might be a better match. At 4:00 this song reminds me a lot of The Three Caballeros what with the little samba riff there.

Specifically speaking, you can check out ElectroSwing music. It's swing, rag, big band, and other jazz music of the 30's -50's but with ideas/sounds/instruments/etc from today's age. I'd suggest artists: 11 Acorn Lane, Caravan Palace, ProleteR, Swing Republic, Grismatik, and of course, the classic Parov Stelar. Alternatively, there's also Electrofunk which is an odd yet endearing mix of 70's Disco genre and this type of big band/Electro Swing. "Messy Monday" by Crazy Delight, "Hyper Light" by Arcade Blaster, "Highlight" by Moe Shop... just to name a few songs and artists.
