YES. Especially when they're a person who once told you that if you ever got a cat, they would move out. I wanted one so badly but I could not just bring one home, would not have been fair. Nagged hubby for a couple years, finally got him to agree, BOLTED down to the SPCA the next day. And now, he's absolutely smitten. I had hoped for tolerance and I got so much more... my heart explodes watching him with her.

I can't stand when people say all cats are "aloof" or "mean" just because they don't slobber all over themselves and stampede to greet you. Cats are stealth hunters, and also they are prey to larger animals, so except for the meowing they've learned to talk to us, they express love in quiet ways. This also explains why they might be cautious upon meeting a new human. Most socialized cats are VERY loving and affectionate, at the very least with their favorite person, but sometimes with everyone. They all have different ways of expressing it, and different preferences with petting or being picked up. I love their different personalities.

I just don't get why dog people think cats are not as friendly as dogs. Not as excitable perhaps, but that definetly doesn't mean that they don't love and care for you!

It's because they aren't. The love a pup comes without condition, a cat will only be affectionate when it wants something. Cats are about as useless as they come...they literally do nothing. Canines are utilitarian, practical AND affectionate. Cats are lazy opportunists. There's a reason why dogs are known as man's best friend.

@foxxycat ! Honestly both are great and different people like them for different reasons. People might like cats cause they're easier to keep than dogs (food, potty, exercise) and maybe want a a independent pet. Or they just felt connected more to cats. Same for dog people with different reasons. I don't really get these gross generalizations of these animals, if you don't know shit about dogs then don't make claims like that, working line/abused/untrained dogs are usually the agressors in these cases. Dogs can even bite or act out when their boundaries are crossed (ya know, just like cats).

I miss my old cat. My grandparents gave him away when we moved. He was anxious, but he was really sweet if you got to know him. He used to let me rest my chin on his stomach while I watched shows and I loved petting him. These videos legit make me cry. He was in horrible condition the last time I saw him.

i wasnt a cat person at all and i only wanted a dog a few years back, that was until i met my girlfriends 8 year old little chonky woman.... she is just out of this world and she made me want a cat immediately after i spent a year with her, she hated when people took her up and held her against them but she ALWAYS loves it when i come home and she runs straight to me for me to pick her up to kiss her and have the daily rubb lmao. Just an absolutely adorable little fluff ball, yes they got much boundaries in difference to dogs but once that cat trusts you and really sees you as one in the pack they will absolutely smash you with love. I absolutely adore cats now, both cats and dogs are WAY to pure for us humans if you ask me.....

I have a mixed breed of Angora and Muchkin cat. At first I thought she'll grow but it appears that she forever will stay kitten because she is a dwarf cat lol. She is very sweet, affectionate and super clingy. I close my room at night but when I open, she burst inside and meow at me while asking for pets and licking my whole face 😂

I finally got one after begging my parents for a car for years. Totally worth it. A little expensive to care for but at least they clean themselves and do their toilet business without making a mess, in their sand box. They're lovely and make you very happy.

I think it depends on the cat, that's just another stereotype!! I have a "ground kitty", she hardly ever goes higher than a bed, and she's probably only been on the kitchen table maybe 3-4 times per year. She's never gotten on the counter, she's never shredded toilet paper, she could not care less about cucumbers, noises from cat videos, or even fireworks. She doesn't do that knocking stuff off tables thing, she's never broken anything! I think just about every vertebrate has its own distinct personality. :)

My cats (woman 😉) have name "Black girl" , she is already dead and I miss her so much 😢 She was very smart, but the most attached to me .She followed me everywhere, and constantly demandet that I take her in my arms like a Little child ☺. Until she lived a very old age , about 20 years .. In my live I had a couple of my cats , but is was probably the smartest and sweetest cat, I cried a lot when she left this Word 😢

All about my cats 🐈‍⬛ My baby is like this, she is very adorable and she is so smart like we understand each other so much! I also have two more all the black cats I have either found my family or we rescued :) my dad rescued one of the cats that was in a heating pipe at his work and we believe his mom put him in there because it was warm and to get the humans lol to take him and my dad still sees the mother here and there :) they also feed other cats there :) but that cat he rescued had to get surgery and it was so much but he is all good and well and happy! The other cat is an outdoor cat because when we took him to the vet he had a certain disease that would make our cats sick but he has a outdoor house with a safe for cat literally a brand that makes outdoor cat heating pads and food and water he has one tooth but is such a sweet heart! So my pfp is my cat Chloe the rescued one is Zack and the outdoor cat is Thomas … they are the babies ❤❤❤

She might not want to climb on us and snuggle, she's not fond of being picked up or having two hands on her, but I KNOW she loves us, she loves being with us, and will sit next to both my husband and I.
