What I find really sad is that we used canaries in mines not because they had some sort of gas detecting ability, but because their small size and rapid breathing rate meant they would die way before the gas would kill a human, so once a canary died the miners would know that the mine isn’t safe and would be able to leave before they succumbed to the gas, this was used so often that around three billion canaries died in this manner, it’s really sad to think about

Another couple of things about the Dendro spot: 1) If you climb the roots high up enough (which...isn't really high there), Paimon will say smth like "doesn't look like there's anything here, maybe we should go?". It's the only time so far when she tries to stop you from moving around vertically (and thankfully, she isn't forcibly turning you around and away), and there isn't even the usual darkening screen that happens when you try to go past the map edge? 2) The whole spot having its own serene music, little to no enemies, roots that defy gravity and logic...could this be the grave of the previous Dendro Archon? Like when Havria died and saltified everything in the radius?

It is actually implied that the fossils are not the result of the falling nail, but of something much more ancient. 6000 years ago, something fell on Teyvat and created the Chasm. It is not clear what this object was, some books call it a star, some artifacts call it the Sun's chariot, but what really matters is that at the time this event occurred, the area that would later become the giant crater we know today was explicitly described as being composed of vast green plains. Since the fossils belong to marine creatures, we can assume that by the time the object fell, the ocean had long since disappeared, and that the sudden geological change that Khedive speaks of, the one that made the water disappear, certainly occurred at an even earlier time. Of course, we know of a certain confrontation between two divine beings that resulted in cutting Enkanomiya off from the ancient world, but it could also be something completely different.

For lore lovers, mushrooms and fungi are extremely important for ritual and magical purposes in Gnosticism which the game takes heavy influence on. Also, Fungal spores in the animal kingdom are known to be hostile towards certain species. They can "control" ants and make them kill themselves and "zombify" them to further propogate spores. Fungi can also "communicate" with spores in its mycelium network. And we all know about fungi psychedelic properties that Uncle He seemed to enjoy

For some reason the symbol of the Adventurers Guild has a tree symbol of Irminsul too if you look closely! It looks like it grew the whole tree with Teyvat as a treecrown up to reach Celestia which may be the goal of the Adventurers Guild.. Maybe the traveller as a "gardener" has to grow more trees like in Windrise, Dragonspine, the Sakura Tree etc to make Teyvat reach it at some point and Celestia tried to cut those ties before with their nails. I remember Dainsleif saying that meeting him in the tavern was part of seeds that are sprouting or sth too
@boek33292 жыл бұрын
My theory for this is that ley lines are all from the Primordial One, who first built human civilizations and supported them in Teyvat. One method that they helped humanity was how to utilize ley lines, and possibly the elements/monoliths(in addition to architecture and other technologies). This is why ley line remnants can be found in the open world where ancient civilizations once existed in. The Adventurers guild seems to be another remnant of this ancient God, remaining by humanity's pure will and curiosity. However, a war ensued between the Primordial One and the Second One, the victor claiming to be the first leader of Celestia. In reality, the Second One won and took over, and began destroying traces of the PrimordialOne, including their civilizations (Using the First One's name as an alibi, one of Celestia's lies). The Chasm, Enkanomiya, Tsurumi Island, Dragonspine and many others around the continent faced 'divine punishment' by the pillars from above, these nails targeting the world tree or ley line that connected them all. The Princess of Dragonspine planted the Irminsul tree as her last measure to save the now-barren land. The Second one continued to act under the Primordial One's name, establishing the system we know today, the 'Heavenly Principles.' One principle is Erosion, stating that all beings eventually fall under this permanent effect. The other, more known, system is 'Visions' and 'Gnosis' that rule the seven nations. All vision holders are acknowledged by the gods and hold the potential to become an Archon over a nation, making Archons themselves pawns in this game. Before her death, Makoto got help from Istaroth, one of the Primordial One's shades/apostles, to plant the seed through Ei. Not only does this mean that the gods from the first era still exist, but they are making movements to expose 'Celestia's lies' and reclaim their crowns. This is also why only the Youkai on Inazuma nourish the ley lines there, humans from all regions being more or less ignorant to its real purpose or even its existence overall. The Twins and Kaenria'h have many involvement towards this ongoing civil war, but I'm waiting for Dain to cough out a little more information in order for me to organize my thoughts(if you read to the end I'm going to apologize for just popping up and pouring my theories onto your harmless comment)

Also, trees...I recently realized there is one in every region. Inazuma and Dragonspine have trees the player offers stuff to...but Mondstadt also has a giant tree a Windrise and Liyue has one above the weekly boss fight area. And then we also have a tree in every single domain and leaks say Sumeru has one too. ...I wonder what's up with that, there is way too much "tree worshipping" in this game to be a coincidence. And then there is "Original resin"... Imagine the plot twist when the game tells you every time you worship one of these trees, you're empowering the abyss where they grew out from.

the irminsul trees are trees that make up the leylines of the world- leylines are a concept IRL that was believed to be “the veins of the earth”, straight lines that people of ancient societies built along. in genshin, they are a network of elements and memories, so of course they are tightly interwoven in the game. maybe we are empowering the abyss, but i don’t think so

You know, what if the upside down city of the chasm was somewhat inspired by Atlantis?

Is no one going to talk about how the area with the Celestial nail has rocks that look like cubes? Cubes that look like fossilized versions of the ones the Unknown God used on us and our sibling in the beginning of the game?! No? No one? Alright, just me then...
@yeetirosina2 жыл бұрын
I was also wondering where those cubes came from, I simply assumed that it was from the Serpent but now you've given me a new meaning to it

Not evaporized, but rather went deeper. Note there's water flowing all the way down to the room with the sky nail and likely further below from there considering it is not filled with water.

Lumine, you might want to go to Bubu Pharmacy and pick up some antifungal prescriptions. You don't want to become a zombie and spread infectious spores like in The Last of Us.

For those who don't know, the shriveled seed is part of an aranara quest, and you even go directly back to that area. There's also a spot that you climb to with an interact prompt that teleports you to Sumeru

My theory is that the fossils are Vishaps like the ones in Enkonomiya. because Liyue has plenty of Geovishaps not to mention the supposed king of the vishaps that we fight all the time for character ascension material. So the hydro, cryo and electro vishaps we see vibing underground in enkonomiya could have had distant cousins in the Chasm. Similar to the Rift hounds which were said to be from Mondstaut but now reside in Inazuma with only a couple welps remaining in Mond

In a loading screen thing about the chasm, it says "There are gas leaks that why the miners don't use pyro to light up the way" (something like that)

The thing about fossils really intrigue me specially with that inverted building that’s a lot like Enkanomiya. So when the Primordial one and the 2nd who came fought the once united land fell into the deep sea, also it’s said that the geo archon revived land from water bodies so chasm was underwater along with that inverted building AND the irminsul branch for I believe it was once a whole tree and grown in this once united land created by the primordial one and looking how celestia keeps dropping these nails proves that they got something to hide. Sumeru might have more answers to the chasm mystery…

"I swear if you keep hiding more info..." with the shrine on Paimon's memory made me laugh more then it should LOL On a side note, maybe you guys already noticed, but that area with the roots where we get the 'shriveled seed' now is a one-way route to Sumeru by climbing the roots

Am i the only one who still remembers Xavaram? It feels like there was no mention of the giant talking mushroom in the chasm by anyone in sumeru or in the chasm team. atleast its typical of the traveller to not mention anything ever. If it wasn't for the memes i would hate the traveller

the interesting part about no.7 (natural gas) is that it's a chemical compound. its not about elements reacting to eachother anymore. Its "our" alchemy, not Teyvat's so there should be serious complication. the fact that you can do what seems to be the Overloaded reaction with only one of the elements of the actual reaction. meanwhile, the gas themselves doesn't bear any elements if you check elemental sight. what we usually call as "natural gas" are surprisingly not natural according to Teyvat's laws. these thing have a source, somewhere.
