What a great song...I'm a drummer noodling with the guitar and I'm gonna learn this song!

Nice one man! Yeah this is an absolute banger to learn! There’s some footage out there of Taylor Hawkings drumming on it with Supergrass back in the day! Good luck with it man!

What I love about his styles is he always plays so relaxed and without any flustering going on. His right hand is economical and very balanced. His chord changes comes from how he hears music and as he is singing he follows the 7ths and other chord tones which bring him great melodies to the table. He isn't technical or well grounded in music education however his brother is much more proficient which lends a hand in the chord changes as they write.

Can you please explain the Cmj chord please mate at 7:00
@TomWelchMusicАй бұрын
Yes, that’s a C# major chord so it’s 4th fret A string with your pointer finger, then bar the D, G and B strings with your ring finger on the 6th fret and it should be fine 🙌

Great tutorial. Love those delicious chord changes in that song. But it looks like to me that the second chord of the verse is a D major (an inversion). It's like the first three notes of the open C chord slid up two frets which makes a D.
