CAUGHT Fish Every Cast...Day in life of a Commercial Fisherman

Last year I filmed a Commercial Fishing Spanish mackerel video with my buddy @Movin Weight Fishing ! We got out there again this year and filmed an action packed video for you guys. I love teaching people about the commercial fishing process. Not many people know that commercial fisherman aren't always on large scale operations, but smaller rigs like we were on today. The mackerel fishery is based on a quota system, where all fish sold to the fish markets are reported to the Govt. either on a state or Federal level. The Govt. regulates the quota, and we as fisherman just abide by the rules they put in place!

I wish I was on that boat with you guys. I love fishing. And me n my family are on vacation at mertle beach sc. I went on a charter for a 4 hour fishing trip for the first time in my life and it sucked cuz there was way way to many people on the boat. Plus they said 4 hours fishing . But it took 1 hour to go out and we only got to fish for about 1 1/2 hours cuz they moved 5 times so that took 20 minutes of our fishing time away. Plus 1 hour coming in. So a 4 hour trip n we only got to fish 11/2 hours. Plus another 15 minutes lost from being snagged with other lines cuz the people are shoulder to shoulder fishing. So I got to fish a total of 1 hour.. I was bumbed. When the real trip was supposed to be 8 hours out to the continental shelf. But the capital didn’t want to do that trip. Worried about the weather. And it wasn’t even white capping. And it’s 8:30 pm now and the ocean is still nice out.. many of us was very disappointed...

Commercial fishing is one of the hardest lives out there. I did it for 3 years when I was younger I couldn't even imagine doing it now. Everybody thinks it's so easy to go out and just reel fish all day. There's so much more than that and the abuse your body takes over the years it's just ridiculous. As much as I love catching huge grouper, snapper ,amberjack, kingfish he'll even catching bait I could only do it for so long.
