100's of $$'s?? Shit those grippers are Damn good eating when made sarandiado. In case you don't get the idea what you do is butterfly the whole body from the top down. In a reverse way. Kinda like you would a large shrimp.season with a lil virgin olive oil, vegetables. Onion jalapeno tomatoes. Some add celery. Wipe the inside with some mayo add a grip of cleaned up shrimp. All this while the charcoal or mesquite is charring. Put the fish on a double type rack to hold everything in place. Place on the already preped charcoal on each side for about an hour on each side or til the meat is nice and white. Cooked to your liking. Freshly made salsa and fresh taco size corn tortillas and go at it of course leaving the skeleton behind. The meat should just fall off the bone. Feed 10 to 15 people. And never leave the Pacifico or Tecate beer out cuz you will not stop eating it's so delicious. Do this with at least a 40 to 60lb grouper. That's a Mexican sarandiado way of cooking it. Pretty famous in Mexico and border town restaurants. Don't forget the beer. Lol.

You guys are in a great spot to fish. But for some reason I have never seen that technique on how y'all stop reeling in the fish with all that slack left in your line while pulling in the fish with 20 feet or more with your hands. And I've caught some good fighting 80lb. groupers. But never pulled the remainder of 20ft. line in with my hands. Beginners.lol. jk. I love deep sea fishing more than hunting deer. Nice!!

The long leader gets a more natural bait presentation, further away from the lead and swivel. Fish that are more finicky will eat a bait on an extremely long leader.

Find someone who’s willing to take on someone without experience I mean you have to know the basics of fishing or else you’ll just look like a dummy all the time but if you have a grasp on fishing it’s just learning the process of doing it commercial

Really makes me sad the amount of fish we pull out of the oceans, everything is all about money it's a really sad state. I'm a land fisherman myself but over the years seeing so so so many people start fishing channels and just slaughtering so many fish needlessly, it has made me rethink it a lot. technology has made it even more unfair for fish with fish finders, drones hundreds of boats moored over schools of fish and people just taking taking taking and taking more. One day there will no fish left to catch. Asia is fishing further and further off shore dragging nets for thousands of miles and ruining precious fish eco systems. With so many wanting to made a cheap buck on social media now, fish and wildlife are under even more pressure.
