When I was younger, I went through this area. Stayed also in Vadus, Lechtenstein. Went over Brenner Pass on the train. This area has got to be the most beautiful part of the world. I wish that I were younger again so that I could do it all over again.

I was in my 20s and backpacked but mostly hitchhiked and took the train. At the time I was of an age, although cutting it close, that I was able to stay in Youth Hostels. During this period of my life, I ended up on a Kibbutz for a year and after that, working as a civilian for the US Air Force in Berlin. In between the work time, I still traveled by the same method as before. Although so much fun, it does become difficult at points. Not knowing where I would sleep at night was the scary part. I had a friend in. Nijmegen in the Netherlands and stayed with him for a while just to rest from the travels. It was very difficult after 3 1/2 years to return to the every day life and get a job again on finally returning to the USA. However, that was an unforgettable time in my life and would not trade that time period for anything. Enjoy your adventures.

Hey Jorge, thanks :-) Eric went through the tunnel when there was a moment without traffic, I took the little sidewalk which is used in case of emergency. It can be a little risky but with good lights and good timing, or just choosing to walk you'll be fine!

Hello everyone Thank you for the interesting film about bivouacking. The grossly negligent mountain guide from Pigne d'Arolla should have seen this film, where 7 people died in April 2018. They had no bivouac bags with them. Every responsible alpinist or mountain guide has a bivouac sack with him on a haute route. One more comment; I have a single (however they make double size(for two bikes) bike covers too) bike cover that can slip onto and over your bike, keeping your bike dry when it rains. They weigh next to nothing and can be folded into a compact size back into it's carrying weightless pouch.

That is a great idea! Which brand do you use? We had a tarp but we send it back because we didn’t use it that much. A lightweight cover could be a worthy replacement.
