Dr. D.R.E was busy producing Eminem's album Slim Shady & Snoop Dogg's album Doggystyle & was out for around 7 years after his album "The Chronic" so when he decided to come back into hip hop himself he worked with Jay-Z to put his album together. I think DRE did the beats & Jay-Z wrote the lyrics on this song. Still D.R.E. signaled his comeback. ✌❤🎵

Dre introduced Snoop on Deep Cover & the Chronic in the early 90s. He then signed Eminem in the late 90s. Eminem has 2 or 3 diamond albums and is in the top 10 biggest selling artists of all time. Dre was just on the Eminem album dropped in December and rumor is he’ll be dropping another album of his own sometime this year.

You most likely heard it in the 2001 movie "Training Day". However, I'm going back a little further than that. Hip-Hop made heavy reference to the 1983 movie "Scarface". I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. Dre, was also inspired by the film's music score, more specially, from "The Drug Lord" scene when Tony Montana first met Alejandro Sosa. Jmo ;-)
