The lead singer is David Lee Roth and yes, Eddie and Alex were bros. You should definitely check out the their song, Hot For Teacher. The video is pretty funny and it’s my favorite song by them. Also, Jump and Panama were huge hits. When David went solo, he did a good remake of The Beach Boys song, California Girls.

This was a cover of the original song by The Kinks! VH definitely kicked it up a notch. I suggest you react to “Ain’t talkin bout Love” and “Mean Street” those are quintessential Van Halen!

A super superb reaction 🦸🏻♂! Yes, they are brothers. David Lee Roth is the lead singer. I see 👁👁 you have reacted to Van Halen before: Jump and Right Now. You Really Got Me was released as the lead single from Van Halen's 1978 debut album: Van Halen. It was written by Ray Davies. It was produced by Ted Templeman. The song reached #36 on the Hot 100. No information on the music video available. Van Halen's single is a cover version of the original 1964 song by The Kinks. There is a song before this song on the album called: "Eruption", which is an Eddie Van Halen guitar solo that leads into "You Really Got Me". Van Halen does not perform as a group anymore, they officially disbanded after Eddie Van Halen's passing in 2020. The song was Van Halen's first single as a band. They learned a bunch of The Kinks' songs when they were just starting out - in part because David Lee Roth had one of their greatest hits albums, and often played them at their shows when they were still a local bar band. "They sounded good and they were great to dance to", David Lee Roth said. When it came time for Van Halen to record their first single, they chose the song: "You Really Got Me", since they had refined it after years performing it. In 1982, they released another cover of a Kinks' song: "Where Have All The Good Times Gone?", which appears on their album: Diver Down. The song was released as the band's lead single as a result of an encounter between Eddie Van Halen and members of the band Angel. Eddie Van Halen and Angel drummer Barry Brandt had both been bragging about their new material to one another, resulting in Eddie Van Halen showing a demo of the song: "You Really Got Me", to Barry Brandt. On the following day, the band's producer, Ted Templeman told Van Halen that Angel was recording their own cover of the song: "You Really Got Me", to release before Van Halen's cover version. As a result, the song was rush-released by Van Halen as a single before Angel could do so. Eddie Van Halen later expressed dissatisfaction with the use of the song: "You Really Got Me", as the band's debut single. He said: "It kind of bummed me out that Ted [Templeman] wanted our first single to be someone else's tune. I would have maybe picked 'Jamie's Cryin'', just because it was our own". The Kinks' band member Dave Davies has claimed to dislike Van Halen's rendition of the song, saying: "There's the thing: good art isn't always about having the comfiest technique. I shouldn't encourage him, but I'm sure Eddie Van Halen played better when he was drunk". He also told of how a concert-goer approached him after a live show and congratulated him on performing a "great cover of the Van Halen song". Another Kinks' band member Ray Davies, on the other hand, claimed to like the track because it made him laugh. Ray Davies once said the he liked the Van Halen version better than the Kinks' own, saying that their original version (The Kinks) "was like a prop plane and Van Halen's was like a jet fighter". Eddie later responded by saying he "was flattered but that the original was better". His (Van Halen's) version was just more modern. "Ray, that prop stuff is the real sh-t", he said. The song has been featured in the video games 🎮: Guitar Hero II (2006) and Karaoke Revolution (2003). The song has been featured in the TV shows 📺: Rock Legends ("Van Halen" - 2016) and Dancing With The Stars ("Rock Week" - 2010). The song has been featured in some films including 📽: Knuckleface Jones (1999), Private Parts (1997), Van Halen Live: Right Here, Right Now (1993), Night Shift (1982), Wu ting (1981), Over The Edge (1979) and more. Miscellaneous Notes 🗃: Eddie Van Halen used an Ibanez Destroyer guitar for the song and most of the next two group albums. The song (Van Halen's version) was used in a 1996 animated ad for a Nissan sports car. It featured G.I. Joe stealing Barbie away from Ken and driving off with her. Radio station DJs often played the 2 songs: "Eruption" and "You Really Got Me", together back to back since on the album the song: "Eruption", leads into "You Really Got Me", but as computerized playlists and corporate programmers took control of radio stations, "Eruption" is rarely played now. Critical Reaction 🗣: Record World said that it's a "supercharged, heavier version" than the Kinks' version and that "it's still a fine, primal rocker". Song Credits 📝: Michael Anthony - bass Eddie Van Halen - guitar Alex Van Halen - drums David Lee Roth - lead vocals Lyrics 🗒: Girl, you really got me now You got me so I don't know what I'm doin' Girl, you really got me now You got me so I can't sleep at night Girl, you really got me now You got me so I don't know where I'm goin', yeah Oh yeah, you really got me now You got me so I can't sleep at night You really got me, oh You really got me, oh You really got me Please, don't ever let me be I only want to be by your side Please, don't ever let me be I only want to be by your side Girl, you really got me now You got me so I don't know what I'm doin', yeah Oh yeah, you really got me now You got me so I can't sleep at night You really got me You really got me You really got me Oh no, no Girl, you really got me now You got me so I don't know what I'm doin' Girl, you really got me now You got me so I can't sleep at night Girl, you really got me now You got me so I don't know where I'm goin', yeah Oh yeah, you really got me now You got me so I can't sleep at night You really got me You really got me, oh You really got me Oh, oh, oh Van Halen Info 📰: Van Halen was an American rock band formed in Pasadena, California, in 1973. From 1974 until 1985, Van Halen consisted of Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, David Lee Roth and Michael Anthony. Credited with "restoring hard Rock to the forefront of the music scene", Van Halen was known for its energetic live shows and for the virtuosity of its lead guitarist, Eddie Van Halen. Van Halen's musical style has been described as Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Arena Rock, Pop Rock and Glam Metal. Upon its release in 1978, the band's self-titled debut album reached No. 19 on the Billboard pop music charts and would sell over 10 million copies in America. By 1982, the band had released four more albums: Van Halen II, Women And Children First, Fair Warning and Diver Down, all of which have since been certified multi-Platinum. By the early 1980s, Van Halen was one of the most successful Rock acts of the day. The group's album: 1984 (1984), was a commercial success with American sales of 10 million copies and four successful singles. Its lead single: "Jump", was the band's only number one single in America. In 1985, David Lee Roth left the band to embark on a solo career and was replaced by former Montrose lead vocalist Sammy Hagar. With Sammy Hagar, the group released four number-one, multi-platinum albums in America over the course of 11 years including: 5150 in 1986, OU812 in 1988, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge in 1991 and Balance in 1995. Sammy Hagar left the band in 1996 shortly before the release of the band's first greatest hits collection titled: Best Of - Volume I. Former Extreme frontman Gary Cherone replaced Sammy Hagar and recorded the commercially unsuccessful album: Van Halen III, with the band in 1998, before parting ways in 1999. Van Halen then went on hiatus until reuniting with Sammy Hagar in 2003 for a worldwide tour in 2004 and released the double-disc greatest hits collection titled: The Best Of Both Worlds. Sammy Hagar again left Van Halen in 2005. In 2006 David Lee Roth returned, but Michael Anthony was replaced on bass guitar by Eddie Van Halen's son, Wolfgang Van Halen. In 2012, the band released their final studio album: A Different Kind Of Truth, which was commercially and critically successful. It was also Van Halen's first album with David Lee Roth in 28 years and the only one to feature Wolfgang Van Halen. Van Halen doesn't tour as a band in 2024. David Lee Roth still performs live on stage in 2024. David Lee Roth has taken up Sammy Hagar's offer to join him on a tour celebrating the music of Van Halen next year. Sammy, Hagar announced the dates for the “Best of All Worlds Summer 2024” tour, featuring former Chickenfoot bandmates Michael Anthony and Joe Satriani, along with drummer Jason Bonham. Miscellaneous Note 🗂: Van Halen's album: 1984, was released on January 9, 1984, ending Van Halen's streak of releasing one album every year since 1978 by nine days. It is not known if the release date of 1-9-84 was a clever marketing ploy or just a coincidence. Eddie Van Halen Passing 🙏🏻: Eddie Van Halen passed away from a stroke at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California, on October 6, 2020, at the age of 65, surrounded by Janie (wife), Wolfgang (son), Valerie Bertinelli (ex wife) and Alex (brother). His son, Wolfgang, confirmed his passing on social media later that same day. Some of Van Halen's childhood landmarks in Pasadena became memorials where fans could pay their respects. Eddie Van Halen had a private funeral service then the family had his body cremated as per his wishes and his ashes given to his son Wolfgang Van Halen. His ashes were later scattered off the coast of Malibu, California, the city in which he lived for many years. A month after his father's passing, Wolfgang Van Halen confirmed that Van Halen had disbanded. ****CONTINUE BELOW****
