This performance never gets old and neither does your reaction. Un-Funking-Believable! "Tarzan" as you call him is challenging his bandmates the whole way! He steps right up there and says "I'll make you feel real good, just watch and see." You even have a rare call & reply interaction between him and the drummer. He calls on them to bring the best they got and they do! The sum of the interactions is far greater than the individual parts. Even you feed off the musical energy these guys released here! I can't imagine finding one that's more intense, physical, passionate, etc. etc. 💖 💖 💖 Mark Farner had to be one of the best front men in ANY rock band. And the drummer and the bass player were absolutely amazing as well. This was early on in their career. I think all of them were under 21 years old at the time this performance was recorded. You can TELL they were still a cohesive unit -- watching the way they make eye contact to ensure they're on the same page in the performance. It's lovely to see that .... so sad they began having problems with their manager and eventually even with each other.

Rock music came from the blues. Many bands still center their music around the old masters of jazz/blues. I was a rocker from 13 in 1968, so these guys were a part of my "playlist" back then. BTW loooved your reaction.

Grand Funk Railroad - "I Can Feel Him in the Morning." One of the best songs ever written in my opinion, and one of GFR most underrated tracks. You'd be the first to react to that. Everyone seems to forget Grand Funk's song "Paranoid." Black Sabbath of course did a song called "Paranoid" about the same time but they were completely different things. GFR's version can peel paint off the walls and take several years off your life expectancy - well worth it though. (No offense to Sabbath who is just about my favorite band.)
