Pretty close. I would say Santana at Woodstock playing "Soul Sacrifice" is #1, and this performance is #2 and #3 is Vanilla Fudge on Ed Sullivan playing "Keep Me Hangin' On". #4 is The Sensational Alex Harvey Band play Give My Compliments To The Chef on the Old Grey Whistle Test. Just my opinion. Santana - "Soul Sacrifice" 1969 Woodstock kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJLEhZJ-h8dnfbc Vanilla Fudge - "Keep Me Hangin' On" 1968 The Ed Sullivan Show kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZWtgGdtmZdpocU The Sensational Alex Harvey Band - "Give My Compliments To The Chef" 1975 Old Grey Whistle Test kzbin.info/www/bejne/rX_NY5mJjaeVrLc

Mark lives just down the road from me. He is just a genuinely kind down to earth family man. As awsome a man as he is talented. He just booked a show at our local casino, it sold out in under thirty minutes! I came in from working in the garage and the wife said Mark's doing a show at the casino. Made a beeline for my phone to call for tickets. She says I heard the ad before she could come and tell me it was sold out. Thought about stopping in to see him and schmoozing some tickets. Hope he might book a second show. He has ten yrs on me but he still jams it like he did in this video. Just fricking awsome.

They began as a garage band in Flint, MI. Later Mark could only find one guitar he could buy on credit and that's what he played here. It was hollow so he stuffed it with foam rubber and taped over the openings. Kinda crude but he made it scream despite the tape!

They are arguably the best R&R trio in history for a few reasons . 1) They are all great rock musicians. 2)They are all great singers. 3) they are all on the same page musically 4) Their sound is incredibly dynamic and full for just a trio which in no easy feat . Unfortunately, in spite of all that they only had one style of music. If you only heard a couple of their songs, you basically heard them all and they gradually lost favor with the pubic .

And that was just a small taste of a Grand Funk performance in front of a small studio audience at a Pennsylvania TV station. Imagine seeing them on a full side stage. The sold out Shea stadium in 72 hours after it had taken the Beatles the only previous band to play there took seven weeks to sell out. They were kicked off Led Zeppelin's 1970 concert tour after two shows when the Zepps manager realized which band the audiences preferred.
