10 months of sobriety does not seem 100% truthful. What has Art been doing in these 10 months? When entering sobriety, you have to keep yourself occupied. He is not working a job, and the state of that camper and farm (never mind the gutted house) shows that he has been doing the bare minimum if that. It's all a bit of a graft with him and Bri. I feel sorry for the kids who got to experience a semi-normal life in a nice home and community - and now it looks like they'll be going back to that cramped dilapidated camper with a dad who is just as much of a lazy mooch and will be back to his old ways in no time. Bri should be mega thankful for living in such a beautiful house thanks to her brother, she should get a real job, and send those kids to school to equip them for a normal life. Many people can raise well-adjusted kids when home schooling on farms, but Art and Bri are not those people. Read Educated by Tara Westover for a glimpse into this skewed mentality and the damage it can do to their kids.

I love seeing how the kids thrive at the farm and being with their dad. They want to learn from him and be hard workers like him. Bri you've been their security during your family trials and those babies all know that. I'm so proud of you Bri for having that unconditional love that we speak in our wedding vows. Arthur, everyone makes mistakes and messes up. A real man can admit his mistakes, and try to fix them. You are doing that. Your family, even your children will have a testimony to share. I'm so proud of each one of you all. God is truly amazing. Ty for sharing your lives.

I'm SO PROUD of you Arthur, that you chose your family over the alcohol. Alcoholism killed my dad and really damaged us kids. We lived with it for a Long time, walking on "eggshells" around him. Our mom eventually told him he had to stop drinking or leave and he chose to leave. I can't tell you how sad and damaging it is, that as a young girl I was relieved he was leaving and that I knew he chose alcohol over us. I'm 58 and still deal with it from time to time.

Thank you for being willing to share this- you will never know all the people who will benefit from your courage. We lost our home to fire two years ago and in the overwhelming aftermath my daily encouragement to myself has been: "What is the next right thing for me to do?" It helps to push all the other stuff away so I can focus on what needs to happen now. The occasional what I wanna do creeps in as a treat, but what moves me forward is the next right thing.

So darn cute, especially with a new kitten. Arthur please keep going forward! Lost my youngest daughter at the age of 42 almost 2.5 years to alcoholism. She left behind a beautiful 5 year old daughter who is now my oldest daughter and is now thriving. She asks about her Mommy in heaven all the time and questions why she died. It’s 💔💔💔. We tried and tried and tried but to avail. Keep thriving for Bri and your children, hard journey I know but so worth it in the end. ❤❤❤

Arthur, your story is such an inspiration to so many. My husband is a recovering alcoholic. He drank several years trying to get rid of pain from his childhood. Finally, after almost losing me and his kids, he was saved by Jesus Christ and one day he was drunk, the next day he was sober. He has been sober for over 36 years and now. He was a Cobra pilot in Vietnam and ended up flying for an EMS helicopter company. He is an amazing Dad to his grown kids and an awesome grandpa. Our married life is amazing. That is his story and you have your story. He has helped so many others and I know you will to. Whether you know it or not, what you have been through is your testimony to others. You are so much stronger than you will ever know. My husband helped start a Celebrate Recovery group at our church. It isn't only for alcoholism and drugs but anger, and all other hangups people have. The group is amazing and they have all become so close. I know you will be helping others and seeing you with your family is just amazing. You are a wonderful inspiration to so so many. Keep up the great work and know that there are many of us behind you praying for you.

Arthur, please don’t let the regrets bring you down. Look at all the good things you’re doing. That’s all that matters going forward. Just one good day after another one success after another. We all have messes that we have to clean up no matter what our circumstances are. Even if we haven’t gone through a hard time nobody’s life is perfect. We just have to pick up and say let’s start doing things better and just stick with it. I think you’re doing great and sometimes a little regret is good because it keeps us going forward but just take every little victory as what it is enjoy it and go forward. I appreciate like many people here your honesty in your struggle I am sure there are many people that you’re helping on your journey to get started on their journey to better. Arthur, I totally envisioned you climbing up the tree & nailing it on there!😂 Also, so proud of you for your recovery! Joyful, may I recommend a cat collar I've used for 20 years called a 'Beastie Band?" It's made of neoprene (wetsuit material) and Velcro fastener, is stretchy & able to slip off if caught. They come in very cute designs & are less than $10. The trick is to put it on kinda tight at 1st so they can't pull it off with their mouth. Once they're used to it you can adjust it a bit looser & cut off the excess. I LOVE your new kitty, she is adorable😻Bri, thx for the explanation about Thrive Market, I've been wondering how it works. Back when I was in first grade, my little brother and I were having a blast at our local creek until we stumbled upon a sad sight-a dead fish floating by. Startled, we ran to the shore, but in the chaos, I didn't notice the broken glass from a 40z beer bottle lurking beneath the water's surface. I stepped right on it. At first, I didn't even realize I was hurt until I saw the bl00d trailing behind me. Panicked, I checked my brother, thinking he was the one injured, but he was fine. Confused, I looked at my foot and that's when the pain hit me like a ton of bricks. My foot was cut deep in a circle shape, and I had to get a lot of stitches. This experience left me with a large scar on the bottom of my foot-a constant reminder of the importance of keeping our waterways clean.

I love seeing Arthur share his vulnerability. He’s doing what he needs to do to heal and he’s probably helping others who are or have walked in his shoes. It won’t be easy but with your love and forgiveness, I believe he will be successful. The kids and you look so much more at peace and I’m glad you are working on the farm to get it back in a livable condition. I believe this will help Arthur with his healing because it will take time, not happen overnight. I do have. Question about your garden. When you cut the romaine lettuce, is it supposed to grow back? I just reaped a nice harvest out of my garden yesterday with beets, bell peppers, onions, cherry and beefsteak tomatoes. I pulled the Romain out after I cut it because I didn’t think it would grow back. Same with my head lettuce. I have green beans and snap peas that look ready to harvest, and my cucumbers are growing great. But my squash and strawberries are another story. This is my first year doing a garden so it’s a learning process for me. We leave AZ next month to head to NC and I’m hoping to take some of the plants in my motorhome, but most will have to either die or go to someone’s house. Most of my garden is in container pots so easily transferred. But the plants in my two garden beds I’ll have to let go unless I can get a neighbor to water them. But neighbors here are not well known.
