God is amazing when we listen with our hearts and allow Him to work things out through Him with love! I love comfrey too but as I tell others when I gift a cutting, put it in a forever spot because you will never just dig it up if you don't like it there!!! It is a forever plant but a very good one!!!

Note about using a torch. If you torch the plants when the soil is wet. The heat transfers into the soil via water cooking the roots. The trick is to hold the flame over the plant so the heat has time to work. The college grounds person used to do this instead of using chemicals and recommended it.

Bri, I really wanted to try the Blueland products; however, they’re made in China. I strive to support as many American-owned businesses as I can, so I’ll pass on this particular manufacturer and use specific products (washing machine & toilet sheets, and dishwasher pellets/chubs) made in the USA.

Comfrey Tea (its fertiliser and not drinkable) is better than manure. Most people leave it to soak in a large container of water but this becomes very stinky very quickly. The other method is to pack a bunch of torn, crushed leaves into a large terracotta pot with a single hole at the bottom. Place the pot inside a just kinda loose fitting bucket and cover both with a cement slab or something so no rain can get in (no water method). After 8 -12 weeks the leaves will have rotted down leaving a deep brown sticky ‘tea’ in the outer bucket. When you are ready Dilute with water 1:20. 10 litre watering can will need 1/2 litre of fertiliser.

Use boiled water and pour it on the ant bed. I have a big kettle I use for it. I pour on slowly so it seeps int the bed. Do it again after you get the water going in instead of running off. It will kill roots too so don’t use it to near a plant you don’t want damaged or killed.

Comfrey is blacklisted in Norway . It really annoys me .. I need some for my fruit trees and berry bushes. Plus they are pretty and can cover large empty spaces in my flower beds , so I don’t have to weed.. I’d also like to make fertilizer with them along with nettles. and of course I’d like them for medical use😢 The same with lupins which is my favorite flower😢

You can probably get some similar use for your trees if you plant dock (rumex) near it. Deep tap root and big leaves that compost well. It just doesn't hätte medicinal use. Are you not allowed the Bocking No 14 Comfrey either? It is sterile as Arthur said. Just don't dig the roots and it won't spread.

For fire ants, the best thing I’ve found is cold pressed orange oil. Mix an ounce or two with a gallon of water. I like to add a glug of Dawn but the orange oil alone will do the job, Just douse the hill and it’ll take care of your ants. For a bigger mound, you might have to hit it several times but if you’re diligent, those ants will die or move on down the road.
