Why that dude didn't snatch all those cards and threaten security if he didn't leave the table is ridiculous. Don't be all light hearted cuz he is a kid. Call it out like it is and put some fear in these kids
@Kenny-ot4yxАй бұрын
I meaaaaaan not to insult his character. But he collects Pokemon cards for a living, he probably only spoke up to that kid BECAUSE it was a kid. I see a lot of these guys get robbed and i swear they see it happening and just don't speak up. Idk i might be outa wack tho what do i know lol.

It's sad man. I was a victim of theft as well.... had a full base/fossil/jungle set from childhood and I let my guard down with two people that had access. I was devastated when I opened the binder and my base set charizard was missing... then I realized they took the eevee evolutions and some other cards too. I was so upset I put the binder away for years and didn't even look at it until recently. It really is the worst pain. I hope my childhood memories were worth the money for them. Some people are just scumbags.

Ayoo! 🔥 solid video We did after the video talk to event staff, and they did end up talking to the kid.. I kinda wished I told the kid off a bit more in the moment but I was too into my coin flip 😅🤣 I have good faith in the community and I’m hoping the kid learned his lesson and makes amends in one of my future vendor povs so stay tuned for that 👀🔥

By this point they are going to ruin the experience for actual good kids ,vendors should have a policy no adult present can't touch the cards simple that way if they do something you have evidence and the parent has to be responsible

Honestly I think pokemon is just pricing out of most pples budget. My girl worked at Walmart for a while and as soon as they took the pack price from 3.50 to like 5, I noticed her sending me wayyy more pics of ripped into product. Most don't have $60 to pull ass from an etb and I feel like that has pushed the thieves to want to do it more
@rungfang272 ай бұрын
I don't think its the price,people are going to steal no matter what. In my area I notice its the travelers " on purpose homeless hippies traveling the country on peoples good will". They hangout in the Pokemon isle of Wal-Mart ripping packs and boxes pulling the hits. Then a few hours latter I may see them at one of the local card stores selling what they took.

Hey Rattle, I'll be vending at collectacon for the first time in Chicago this October. Do you have any advice on what kind of camera to use to film everything to protect myself from thieves like this? I'd just be looking for something simple and relatively cheap but with good enough storage that I can just leave it rolling for the day.
@RattlePokemon2 ай бұрын
A phone, if you have a spare, is probably the best cheap option. DJI and insta360 both make somewhat inexpensive portable cameras that might be a good option.

People need to be more direct. See someone doing shady stuff call them out, ask them to put your cards down and leave. I wonder if vendors need to have 3 or more cameras to catch different angles and maybe even greet people with their first name or something to dissuade them

Is a card or two of overpriced cards going to kill your business? No, it won't. Yes it is wrong no doubt but if your not putting your cards in a case at a big event you are doing it wrong and are opening yourself to assholes.
