NO, most company's that use your land lease it from you, and they dont need to notify you

@kingodie Wow! That really stinks. But if there's a lease, then there had to be an initial contact with the land owner at some time. It's my understanding that the Scheulens were not made aware of any contact.

In our state they have to give you 3 days notice before entering your property.

Every deal is clearly iterated on a legal agreement so that there is a lawful “roadmap” to exactly what is permitted and what isn’t. It isn’t a standard one size fits all agreement so what you have for your property might not be exactly the same as what someone else has. One thing that is fairly easy to understand though …they need access to service whatever their easement was established for….that is what happened here. I had a situation where a contractor for the utility company that crossed my property rutted it up a bit and clear cut some trees that were outside of the defined easement. So we had to have a conversation that ended with a minor compensation that came out of a fund they kept for that exact reason. We used the money to buy and plant more trees …so it was fair.

@genesispuredeaf2390 that's what I thought was required. It doesn't sound like the Schuelens had made such an agreement . If the previous owner had one , it should have been disclosed at the time of the land sale.

Is private property, my property, pipeline Workers are the only ones with permission . Everyone else is trespassing, which happens often in the country

@@ParagonRidgeRanch Depends on your title as to who owns the pipeline or who has access to the pipeline. My experience is that the pipeline is often jointly owned. Meaning, they can come and go as they please, just like you. They could come in and dig up the old pipeline or lay a new one if they choose.

Chrissy, and Jeremy, Is the pipeline supposed to notify you before entering your property. We have a pipeline running through the back part of our property. They've not once cut, or cleared the property here. We've been here 7 years. The only thing they do, once a month is fly a chopper over where the pipe is buried. 6 1/2 years ago, I had two guys around 10PM hunting with bow, and arrow down the side of our property off our gravel road. When I came back home turning on my gravel road, I pulled right up to them. It was a commercial truck. One guy stood in front of the sign on the truck door so I couldn't see it. The other walked off the side of our fenceline to the back of the truck to block the license plate. When I confronted them, the reply was they had permission to hunt on the property by the owner. My response, I'm the owner....and you don't have permission. It's illegal to hunt at night!!! They both looked guilty as sin. I stated I'm calling the game warden. They took off like a bat out of hell,and I've never seen them again. The next morning we talk with the game warden.

Totally should have went to jail!! It’s hard to protect what we work so hard to have for our family. Some people in this world are just worthless shitbags. Besides trespassing and hunting at night, they could hurt someone. I’m getting more recluse to this world because of the terrible human beings. All we can do is pray for safety.

Pipeline workers aren't trespassing... Used to run into angry landowners all the time. Had one guy we had to get the sheriff out to explain to him we were allowed on his property. We can be forced to travel miles of these pipelines at time to do inspections and such. If we have to cut barb wire, we will "of course we normally fix it". We will even plant grass if we have to dig up sections for visual inspections.

Hey Captain Obvious….they know that [and said so on the video] 🤔. Perhaps it wasn’t immediately obvious to you but they actually thought this was another incident where a trespasser was spotted and treated it as such. You should know that because you had to watch the video to see the part where it was someone with the pipeline. FYI - clickbait is where people deliberately misrepresent something where the title has almost no (or sometimes zero) relevance to the content. In this video …almost the entirety was addressing their concerns about it being a trespassing situation. Even after it was easy enough to assume the reason for their being there was legit….they still had conversations enough to clear that they were all in fact legally justified in their presence. Unless you are one of the guys there and are mincing words over thinking they were called you a trespasser, you have no dog in this fight. Let me know if you are one of those guys and I will happily share different counsel/guidance for you.

I know you’re trying to grow your channel, but saying you have trespassers in the title vs we might have trespassers are two different things. Glad all was OK. Drones are so handy. I used mine to keep an eye on people hired by our neighbor replacing a fence between our properties.

All well and good, but any company worth their salt, would, should contact landowner and inform them that they will be conducting inspections or maintenance of their pipeline...,, its only good manners after all. I'd most certainly contact the company over this and request this simple courtesy.

I would have thought so as well, but they havent. They show up, one year in the middle of rifle season and were mowing and weedeating. I was so scared for them as all of our boys were in the deer woods. It would be best if they did, they contract out different companies to do it, its a great idea to give them a call.

Worried to death about trespassers. What a waste of time unless they are hunting are doing damage to your property. Is it posted? And yes I own over 30 acres now and used to own 100 acres.
