Vickys English has improved significantly in the last year. Speaking from experience after living in a remote part of Spain for 3 years it definitely takes years even with full immersion in a culture to find the confidence to speak another language. Bravo girl! The fact Brody and Jacko have never eaten store bought fish is such a big flex 💪🏽

100%! I refuse to buy seafood or tin salmon/tuna from the shops anymore. Especially after watching Seaspiricy 😳😳 no idea where it is sourced or farmed. I guess we have no idea with red meat either but that’s for another day. Let’s keep adventuring and cooking what we catch 👏🏻🐟

And you usually spend more time on both than at sea 🌊 🙃 I used to eating some of that frozen fish younger cause living in the mountains but since I relocated on island in the Pacific, it is not possible for me to eat any more any frozen fish ! I have never cut and skin a whole fish 🐟 however after watching you and other KZbinrs I have faith that if I was a situation near the sea that I could survive some days. I Thank you, I learned things I didn't know I needed to know. This content helps with depression and anxiety. Regarding fresh vs bought fish, the vast difference in flavor & texture is the reason I don’t eat fish much unless I’m at the beach where fresh fish is prepared right there. It's so good to see you appreciate what you have, growing up in the UK except for cod and chips we were never exposed to fresh fish, other than my father used to fish for conger eel and mackerel which is disgusting unless smoked or BBQ'd, which was never done then. It wasn't until I started travelling the world that I discovered I liked to eat fish, especially Mahi Mahi, tuna, shark, etc, especially if I was lucky enough to catch it myself. Sadly now I don't get to travel anymore and unless willing to pay a king's ransom find it so hard to get any decent fish and miss it so much, along with the fishing so have to live precariously through you and Jacko.

My family was never big on seafood growing up. But I remember a brief period of my youth when my mom cooked some fish for us. It was so awful it turned me off from all seafood for the next 15 years. Then I got older and began traveling to other countries and eating at restaurants that were along the sea, where everything on the menu was caught that day. I felt so cheated lol. It wasn't until my mid 20's when I learned what fresh fish is supposed to taste like. Now after taking my mom to some of the best restaurants in my city and around the world, she loves seafood. There really is no comparison between fresh caught and store bought.
