Let’s appreciate how John supports artists like this
@richardchristy54084 жыл бұрын
As the story goes, one night John and Cautious Clay were walking out of a wine bar in LA. John runs into Jack Antonoff and introduces Clay to Jack. Nine months later while Clay is in Norway he gets a call at 5am. It's his manager. Taylor Swift wants to interpolate Clay's “Cold War” on her “London Boy” track. Within 24 hours the deal was done. Cool story.

This performance is absolutely euphoric. The drums and extra guitars give it a way more lush and powerful sound than the album version, and John's solo is fucking sublime. Love how he just randomly pops up onstage with so many artists. He was the first artist I really got into, and it feels almost like he's following me around the way he supports all the newer artists I've gotten into.

Yes it is. It’s longer than a typical release/ pre -chorus.. and those two beautiful chords they play too at end of pre- chorus and first chorus. It almost seems like the song could go a bit longer but it’s still great!

tbh I'm as fascinated by the band setup as the performance itself. i don't know why, but you just don't see a lot of pop/rnb groups performing with just percussion, bass, and guitar... no keys or synths cuz the guitar's filling in that part, i like it!
