Very good video for the understanding comabt and uptime of the game. I have to add one thing which Averse taught me back in the day and everybody just figures out subconsciously while playing. You briefly touched if with the part of cancelling skills and the difference of buffering and canelling. The "buffering" queue of the game. Lost Ark has a skill buffering queue (which doesnt get shown btw) of exactly one skill. So if you want to buffer your next skill while doing one you can hold down the next button already while executing the previous one. If you press 2 different skills in succession of executing the skill the later press will replace the earlier one in the queue. However if you want to dodge for example instead of continue with your rotation you would press your movement button or spacebar to dodge stuff. Most skills can be really properly "canceled" with spacebar but most can only "buffered" such as the general movement click aswell. So sometimes if you dont properly change your buffer queue with your basic left/right click (whatever your settings are) you will continue to execute the skill you buffered instead of walking and get hit or even dy by the pattern you intended to dodge. This also allows you to change up the skill you want to execute/buffer next. I hope this is not formulated to complicated. :D

From a supp who plays alt dpses perspective, greeding and using super armor for patterns is a good habit if your gear permits it as well. Depending on how good/geared your support is you might get varying uptime of DR/shields, so it is helpful to note your personal tankiness in relation to the content you're doing and the capabilties of your support. Generally when doing new raids on ilvl it requires you to dodge much more than you would weeks/months into the fight as well. If you lose enough health that healing is necessary and can't/won't use a pot, artists and bards have to sacrifice identity bar meant for buffing to heal you thus reducing party DPS. On the flipside, the safer you play the less personal DPS you might do so you will see more normal patterns between mechanics which can chunk down your HP more. It's all a balancing act. One thing I've noticed is that newer players don't utilize the support's huge awakening shield to do damage. If you have a big shield on you greed away!

Maturing as a DPS in Lost Ark is realizing that the less time you are on the floor == more time you are attacking the boss == more dmg you do. Great video boss 🫡 not alot of people talk about this

The tips are great and I will be using some of them that I didn't notice as much before like the difference between Para/push immunity. I figured there was like a difference between Root/Stun, but didn't think much into it. As a newer player myself with only about 500~600 hours your not wrong about the combat, it feels amazing, and I can't get that feeling from other mmos which kind of sucks. The story, music, and environments are also Solid to great as well. The only gripe I have is progression systems, I'd love the ignite servers version thrown into the main servers, but I can ultimately deal with it since I've made it so far more or less fine. The best part of the video was the intro with you making the comment of 'Next Wife'. My wife turned and looked at the video, and then me. She then looked back at her PC and simply said, "Don't even think about it.". haha

These are good tips for min-maxing DPS but I kinda don't like that you're basically teaching new players that nothing else matters besides personal DPS and if you do that and anything goes wrong, it's not your fault it's your support's fault. Obviously it's situational, but would it not be better for new players to first make it second nature to move out of dangerous shit and then from there begin learning which patterns are okay to superarmor and greed through and which ones aren't? In a lot of the earlier raids it's true that the only punishment for eating patterns is taking damage but in later raids (which, with ignite servers, even new players are getting exposed to now) eating the wrong pattern is a death sentence that you can't just justify blaming your support for and, alone, can result in the raid having to reset. Like I said, all these tips are good but I'd argue these tips are better for experienced players to maximize their DPS than for new players. Getting into this mentality just teaches new players really bad habits imo

Bro you you know what happens with decent players when they greed on something that's gonna send them into the shadowrealm a couple times? They learn yo I ain't spposed to greed that... New players should "on paper" be progging in a prog party and there it's much more valuable to test the waters and see what's greedable and what not instead of playing like a timid boi and losing uptime while waiting on 100% safe patterns. This worked while we were learning the game cuz there were A. no real hard dps checks and B. no DPS meters. Nowadays noone can get away with not milking the most out of his char in prog content...

@@sth.likevolleyball350 I agree with you, testing the waters and learning what you can and can’t greed through is how you become a good DPS player. But you’re taking it from one extreme to the other. I’m not saying people should be running away from every single pattern in the game, all I’m saying is this video is telling new players to start by greeding everything as a starting point and I think new players should start by learning that you’re supposed to dodge shit in this game, and then from there start ‘testing the waters’ (as you said) and maximizing their DPS by abusing super armor, support DR, shields, etc.

Since shit puts you straight on the ground anyway and you get 0 enjoyment of playing your class when resting on the floor. So the natural inclination for a player will be to dodge everything and hit inbetween, what our guy here is saying is basically go ahead and greed to see what you can get away with. And for new supports as well it is important to understand the value of their shield/drs and not to turn into a healbot that reinforces bad play habits in dps or a "buffs only" sweatlord.

I haven't spent a cent on honing and have 3 chars in t4 after ignite. In 2600 hours. 15 set trans on everything on main almost 40 elixir. Keep coping why you are just terrible though.
