This piece is incredibly beautiful. Every note seems to be fitting perfectly. You can even see what a profound effect it has on the conductor. He seems to be deeply moved by it (his facial expression and hand moves). It almost looks like the music is tearing his poor heart apart, yet at the same time giving him so much pleasure.

Watching Georges Pretre conduct is always like seeing how some conductors can get the music out of their soul and into the air. Many opera singers wanted Pretre for their recordings. A great conductor now in his nineties. A gentle man that could easily convince musicians to play it his way. Unique and never imitated.

This piece is very dear to me because whenever I close my eyes I think of my dog Buster whom my ex wife kept knowing how much I love him. As I listen, all the memories from they day I got him adopted and to the moment I last saw him, all those come to my mind.
