at 21:00 i defended on athens last week and my cav went up on that balcony to protect my archers from infantry that managed to get up. the enemy infantry didn't use the stairs they walked into the building and ported to the balcony but my cav went up the stairs and actually fought. was very strange and unexpected

I recently read in a comment that Parhtia would not be suitable for defending cities and that is why so few players play with Parhtia. I guess this video shows how to do it 💪 What a superb battle of Parhtia. Rome didn't stand a chance! The only strategy that would have helped Rome would be that all three armies together, covering their flanks, quickly advanced to the wall. Divided into three separate armies, they had absolutely no chance. A found food for the riders of death 😅 That was a great spectacle 👏👍👏

Parthia isn't a good defending faction. They are an attacking(land battles) faction based off their roster. There is no changing that. Cav spam Sally outs is chessy and defeats the purpose of a siege. Pretty much a land battle with a different map layout.

@@Lacrymal1505 Not really unusual/daring. It simply doesn't make any sense. Cav always acted as a relief force as a city, especially the ones in Rome 2 couldn't maintain a whole cav army. 9/10 sallying out was a death sentence as sieges actually had shit in place. A whole siege camp, etc.

Sallying out is always good to surprise your enemy or keep the pressure on them as a defender...Unfortunately Roman players could have countered the enemy Parthians no matter how scary their armies where...They just had really bad attack plan and zero communication..If they had grouped together as one force with many parallel lines supporting each other Parthia would have zero chance of winning this, the amount of javelins would be enough. Lesson of the day don't attack alone specially against factions that have really strong cavalry and elephants.
