Love your videos. As a 56 year old guy that loves the Australian countryside and works throughout it I am so happy to see a young guy getting off the devices and getting out amongst it, I am proud of you. ❤

When I was in my forties and fifties 35 years ago this area was one of my favourites for a day walk or when time allowed overnight at certain times of the year the fly fishing here was brilliant. The two simplest ways in was canoe or Crawfords. You have bought back wonderful memories. Thank you

Fantastic to hear mate, I’m very keen to try fly fishing down there at some point too, glad you enjoyed and thanks for the comment.

Mr Yowie, you never disappoint with your adventures, and this is a prime example of another awesome outing. For someone like myself who is recovering from surgery you have inspired me to get back out there and hike once again. I noticed there was no Sven with you this time - I hope he is ok :) Keep up the great adventures mate and stay safe, take care.😎

That was a true adventure. Stunning scenery, hiking, and fishing was a bonus. You might want to consider getting a three piece pack rod or a good quality telescopic fishing rod. That way, you hands a free when you're hiking. It's a safety precaution.
@YonderingYowies23 күн бұрын
High mate, cheers for the comment. Yeah I absolutely agree. I have been looking at the Diana wilderness series and think it could be a good choice, nice 4pc setup that would go straight in the pack.

Another epic trip! I know from experience that the quick sand can be a killer - it's always found on the sand banks just above a pool, as you found. I once went in with both legs and would have been there still except I was fortunate to lever myself out with my kayak. Take your inflatables next time - start at the Bob Turner track and paddle to the first bridge - lots of deep pools and big fish there. Just watch the water levels if it rains as it can get scary really fast!
@YonderingYowies22 күн бұрын
That’s scary! Yeah glad I know how bad it can be now too. Cheers for the intel, I’m very keen to get back in there with the Packraft some time soon and fish those deeper pools 👍

Awesome hike, absolutely beautiful country to explore. Those quicksand spots in the river can be very dangerous, have been caught in a couple in the Murray River and was a real struggle to get out of, it certainly shakes you up when it happens. Thanks for sharing your trip that looked like a real effort to get down in the gorge and probably harder to get bsck out. That pie looked bloody tasty, always tastes better out in the bush.
@YonderingYowies24 күн бұрын
Hi mate, thanks for the comment, and yeah, I wasn't expecting the quicksand to be quite that bad, especially when you're alone in the bush... It was definitely a big effort getting down there and back out, that's probably why no one does it haha!

Well done mate that was so good. I use to read John Bethune's book Bethune on bass back in the 90' s he fished the Colo upper reaches l was always like wow look at that amazing country and bass aswell. Unfortunately l never got there other systems were always was calling me. Once again awesome footage and just good fun to watch 😊
@YonderingYowies21 күн бұрын
Hi mate, very interesting to hear, I’ve been wanting to get my hands on that book for a while very cool to hear that. Haha I am constantly looking at different systems, it’s really hard to choose where to follow your nose but this is definitely a place I’ll be returning to in the future
@fraser..n7421 күн бұрын
@YonderingYowies 💯 unfortunately John has pasted now tho his book would be very hard to find now he was a big influence for me chasing bass and estuary perch and for ever finding new and remote sections of rivers. Unfortunately no one really did a documentary on him what ashame.
@YonderingYowies21 күн бұрын
