Thanks for sharing. I did the diving out there in various caves in 1990, 1991 and brought back a lot of great memories 😊

I camped rough with my trailbike at the cave and climbed down inside to the point where you are receiving your gear - that was about...1993. I didn't go further as i didn't have the appropriate gear and was by myself. I saw & old B&W movie if underwater rapids in one of these cave systems from the 1950s or before. It may or may not have been this one, but it was a fair volume of water - so I was looking for that.

Yes not the sort of location you want to get lost or hurt without anyone around. We had a lot of gear and training plus plenty of us there if anything went wrong

Did you see any animal or plant life of any kind down there?
@seanpe802 жыл бұрын
Hi. Not really. There was bats in cave. Water is never any light which wouldn't help.

Be warned it is addictive! :) My advice is don't put it off until one day,one day may never come and life is short. I hope you get to experience it soon. Good luck

Hello, great video ! Can you inform me if you use protune or not ? And if you use it, what set you use ? Thanks
@seanpe805 жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks. I put Protune on for the higher bit rate but I still leave shutter on Auto, WB on Auto, Color on GoPro and sharpness on high. I put EV at -0.5 otherwise you get highlights blown out. If cave diving I put ISO min 100 to Max 800. If in ocean I put min 100 to Max 400. I used to put WB on Native, Color on flat and sharpness on low and then do all the color correction and sharpening in post but it was a lot of work and I just cant be bothered anymore, it takes so much work for the small gain you get.

Are there any Caves like this that can safely be snorkeled by non-divers?
@seanpe804 жыл бұрын
I assume you mean in Australia? Only spot really is Ewens Ponds near Mt Gambier. It is 3 ponds joined and fresh water springs, not a cave. You need to book a time slot and pay before going aswell.

The first 800 metres of Weebubbie cave is open water, you have the cave roof about 10 metres above you, It's only after the 800 metre mark you will actually go underwater where the water and the cave roof touch, if you are not trained as a cave diver, do not attemp to go any further. The underwater cave diving footage you see in this clip is excatly the same if you snorkle the first 800 metres, crystal clear and the deepest parts would be around 15 metres in parts. The water is quite cold. You could easily take down some boogie boards or tubes or blow up boat or simular. It's about a 500 metre walk from the surface to the waters edge. Often people will actually walk into the water because you really don't see it unless you are looking for it. It really is that clear.
