Discovered in 1904, the Dinant cave, known as the Merveilleuse, is considered one of the most beautiful caves in Europe. Shaped by nature over time, it reveals a spectacle made of stalactites, stalagmites and waterfalls.
Revealed during the digging of a trench for the local railway linking Dinant to Florennes, it has since become the pride of the region. It must be said that with its monumental galleries, waters that wander and jump along the rock, concretions of elegant whiteness, stalactites, stalagmites, draperies and waterfalls, the Grotte Merveilleuse lives up to its name wonderfully!
La Merveilleuse distributes its galleries over three floors from an altitude of 155 meters to 100 meters. During your visit, you will experience a series of elevation changes since the cave has several hundred steps. Three floors and fairly low ceilings, so sometimes you'll have to bend your back. A little physical effort that is certainly worth it.
