this music is telling the player when they reach this area in the game that they're nearing Giygas and for the final battle, they can either go grind and get stronger as well as getting strong items and powers before facing the big bad alien or just go right ahead and end this. Music like these really fit in the scene and the current mood of the story, the heroes are going to head off to the final battle where there is no turning back that there is a chance they would die or the villain.

i've been spoiling the game to myself a bit, i'll admit it. on my first playthrough, i kinda knew already what giygas looked like, and i knew that you had to get into a robot to kill giygas once i've heard that music for the first time and saw dr andonuts, i've had a huge adrenaline rush i almost couldn't sleep the night. (i got in the cave of the present at around 11:00 PM) i probably got stressed the shit out because i tried to complete earthbound as fast as i could, and my characters had a level around 60 to 80; very low.

I actually grind Ness out at the very beginning of the game for about 10 levels then against Franky's gang 5 more levels then it's pretty much smooth sailing from there by the time I get to giygas I am at about 75 cruisin all the way to the end
