CAVES in Florida?! 🦇 AMAZING Florida Caverns State Park

In this episode, we explore the natural wonders at Florida Caverns State Park! This rare Florida cavern is located in the northern Panhandle of Florida in the small city of Marianna and is home to some adorable cave bats! The colorful underground passages can be difficult to navigate but our awesome tour guide led the way through some interesting formations.
As always, we've got our camper van, but this time we’ve booked an interesting primitive campsite. And before turning in for the night, we get lucky with an amazing up-close view of the moon.
We even debated jumping into the other natural wonder at the park, which they call BLUE HOLE SPRING. The Blue Hole is deep, perfect for jumping in. When the water levels are just right, it's super blue, but a nearby alligator has us second guessing our refreshing swim… Enjoy the show!

I can't believe how brown it is. When we filmed there last year it was so blue! Lol Mike's sunglasses are at the bottom. It is really deep. We are the same, only swim in clear water. Most Floridians know how to exist with alligators. Great shots of the moon! We had a lot of fun checking out the caves. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun, too. Hopefully, next time you visit the water will be blue.

Thank you so much! We hope you both are doing well! Plans to come back to Florida and visit the cavern? 😄 Nope, no air conditioning in the van. It saves space, power, and money by not having one so for now, we prefer to keep it simple in the van. It's definitely warm in the summer though so we try to plan around it and pick water destinations in those warmer months. 🥰🌊

I started watching your videos about six months ago I was going through a hard time and I'm not able to get around. Me and my family used to go all over to but I'm disabled now in a wheelchair and I ride a scooter so I can't do as much anymore. But I enjoy y'all's videos so much. It is so refreshing and I was born and raised in Florida and there's things that I didn't even know with you in Florida. So please keep up your videos

I was there in 2017. Awesome place I’ve been to some great caverns around the country, but this one is my favorite because you don’t think of Florida having caverns like this. There are some cool caves around the state, but this is the gem. There’s springs on the Chipola River as well.

It's awesome that you've visited these caverns! It was such a neat experience, especially unique for Florida. We've visited some caverns long ago in Missouri where Paul's family was from, and they were a bit different. Deeper underground for one, and sometimes with a waterfall inside. Anyway, text time we visit the Florida panhandle, we'd love to explore some of the springs!

@@PSAdventures Springs are a bit colder in the panhandle. They are in the 60s. Marianna is one of my favorite towns in Florida. It’s a tri-state area not too far from both the Alabama and Georgia borders.

Hello! Well, we figured if people go swimming in this all the time when it's blue, then we can at least put our feet in when it's brown. 🤣 We had been wanting to see these caverns for a long time. What a cool different experience for Florida! Haha the bloopers. Sarah loves editing those. We can be such goofs! 🤣 Now back to the beach! And it's a really good beach too. 😍

Guys this was one of your very best videos, For me I just totally enjoyed your enjoyment you're openness and those caverns were incredible. I live in portland oregon and in southern oregon we have the oregon caves, I was in them years ago and I don't remember if they were caverns or Caves but I have been in the carlsbad caverns and they are definitely caverns. It wasn't as bad as some other deep caverns we've been in underground. Since this is Florida, it didn't go down too far but some of the pathways were a little narrow. Definitely have to keep the wife happy! 😁 We're so happy you enjoyed our video! Thanks for watching! 😊

I live in Florida all my life (62 years) and I/we don't go camping during the summer time. We opt to camp in the winter time.

The winter time is so nice for camping in Florida for exactly that reason. It's nice to sit by the warm fire on a cold night and not have to worry about bugs. In the summer it can get so hot! 🥵⛺

(: It's right on the Rhode Island border here in Massachusetts. So looking forward to it, and we have perfect weather today!!! (: OH how I want to move to Florida! As you know I was thinking about Key West but one issue I have with that dream is that healthcare isn't that plentiful and I would prefer to be closer to more things to do. I have been saving money for a few years now and I am hoping it will eventually happen! Any thoughts on places I should think about that are near the ocean in Florida? Oh my goodness! Being 100% serious, we literally just drove past Florida caverns State Park and looked it up on Google maps on our way to visit Florida State University... We pulled up KZbin and this is the first one we saw. Thank you for sharing so we can follow along with your adventures! Will definitely have to come back and visit ourselves. When you first said you might jump in even though it's brown, Becky said I think I would. Then you mentioned the alligator and she said maybe not! 😂

Thank you so much! Ah, great question! That is a parking area for the Blue Hole Spring. Most of the parking area for the spring is that red clay/dirt, but the parking a bit further away (overflow parking?) is all grass. It was so pretty with the little flowers in bloom. 😄

The grass area is not a camp spot though. We had a reserved campsite booked but it was just too much of an incline to sleep comfortably so we hoped they'd let us park on the grass overnight instead. We thought for sure they were going to ask us to leave but we got lucky because they must not have noticed.

Its a little creepy when it comes to cloudy water. We usually only put our feet in when it's crystal clear but we were feeling a little adventurous on this one. Haha! 😳😅
