this is a great series of videos and this is probably the greatest rescue operation ever sucessfully undertaken i had no idea about the trapped pump team they kept that quiet. I am not a cave diver the thought of being underwater in a cave terrifies me that alone makes me respect those who cave dive

Another excellent video Sid. When Rick got back he slipped away for a couple of weeks to get away from the press. However when he returned a group of six of us met up with him one evening and we got the full story then, including all the politics and bureaucracy and how they dealt with that, rescuing the 4 pump workers which they'd had to keep quiet to avoid embarrassing the Thai authorities, the part the US army team played in liasing with the Thais and organising logistics, how they'd practiced with some kids in a local swimming pool, various other issues they had to deal with,etc. One of our group is a staff nurse who's job involved being in charge of the drugs at the hospital and advising the best for the job, the dangers of combining certain ones, etc. So he was very interested in which drugs had been used. They had to give them a cocktail of three drugs. Ketamine was used to put them under, however it has a side effect of making you drool which could be fatal when wearing a mask, so a second drug was used to couteract that. I can't recall the reason for the third one but I think it was to counter another side effect.
