Cavite House Culture Shock: Expectation vs. Reality

Today we vlog as we travel to Cavite, south of Manila, in the Philippines to see where my fiancé is currently living. Suddenly I find myself eating interesting foods that I've never heard of before! Talk about culture shock! But by the end of the day I learn more lessons about contentment in life, that comes natural in the Philippine culture.

I met women on Filipina Cupid and on Christian Filipina. Even though I met some great people on both, I would have to say I found fewer fake profiles on Christian Filipina. I found the love of my life in Christian Filipina, and they also help make sure your girl is not a fake. Once you find someone, you can have the company do a check on them to make sure they are real. They also helped me set up my flight to see my girl and will help me with the K-1 visa.

Another great video. Your alot braver then I am when it comes to eating the food here in the Philippines. So far for me it's been panzit, lumpa and chicken adobo that I really like. I am very fussy when it comes to food and I could never eat blood like that. I have a few months left here then it's back to Canada to work and I fly my new bride to Canada in June. Take care and always be safe

There's a delicacy here in Kenya called Mutura (traditional sausage). It's sometimes made purely with blood (but often made with a mixture of intestines, animal fat, and chunks of meat). It is so addictive that when I find them finished in my local plug, I opt to travel a distance to get them, I'm salivating as I type. I had to laugh, she's looking for a kind and honest man (values, character) unlike those who "bring the table!" Thank you Double J.

@JesseOsby - no your question is not weird at all! In places where food is scarce - all parts of a beast is utilised - nothing is thrown out! In the West we throw out a lot of the insides of a chicken and just eat the drumsticks, breasts etc. Have you heard of the food called "Haggis" from Scotland. Or in my place of birth there is a food called "Kokoretsi" which is made up of a majority of the insides of a sheep!

I love your story... I gravitate to them as I am almost done with 24 year marriage which should be final here in a few weeks at the ripe ol' age of 54. I have been separated for over 2 of those 24 years and as a Disabled Veteran the only value I served is... what my sacrifice and benefits provided, to them as a thank you for my service.... I just put in for my passport and will soon do a 30 day recon stay in Cebu to see if I can acclimate to the weather and culture before making the move a permanent one. With my retirement here in the states it is rough but should be enough for the Philippines. So looking forward to the kind people and the laid back relaxing atmosphere. Hoping to find a good Church while there, bjj and Muay Thai to keep me in shape and busy.... and can't wait to enjoy my nights on the beach. Will keep you both in prayer. Thanks for the hope and content.

This may be a weird question, but where's the rest of the chicken? I've seen your videos and some others showing chicken intestines, feet, hearts, etc from street vendors. But are those vendors also selling parts like breasts and drumsticks, but those don't end up in KZbin videos because they're not unusual to us Americans? Or are those vendors only selling parts that Americans are not used to eating?

I understand your concern and I really appreciate how loving your guidance is. :) Anyway, I understand that "abstain from blood of animals" in Acts is referring to Genesis 9 saying "you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood." We all eat meat with blood in it every day. It's cooked and sometime it's not, like in rare steaks (which I love). I'm not drinking the "life blood" out of live animals or animals that were just killed - which is what I believe God is condemning. I don't know how we can avoid eating blood while eating meat. So it's obviously talking about something deeper. That's what I believe. Thank you for your comment. :)

Yep 👍 That's the Philippines in a nutshell. I arrived for the first time on the 26th December 2023 and have already encountered a lot of what I saw in your clip. Exact location is just east of Valencia City in Northern Mindanao. As long as you are friendly to the locals you will be accepted and be a part of them👍
