Cast Here Catch Fish

The last 2 days camping alone with homeless kitten. Catching fish and squid to feed kitten. Catch and cook squid, calamari is better than fish! We explore more of the island then catch & release some beautiful tropical fish, and Giant Trevally. We then catch more fish to cook for us and the kitten before we sleep. The last day I go fishing for big fish in the morning before we pack up and say good bye to the island and the wild cat sadly we cannot bring it from the island, even if you think we can we can't for a number of reasons!

Consuming the fish
We catch and release many fish and keep only what we need for food for us and the kitten. The fish we keep is Honeycomb Cod and Red Throat Emperor. I scale, gut, gill, and fillet this fish before cooking the fish in batter for crispy fish nuggets, was delicious!
Catching Squid
Using a squid jig I catch squid and we fry it with olive oil, onion, garlic, lime, pepper, salt, soy sauce and chilli - for a delicious lunch!

I highly recommend squidding with a loose drag and let them run so you don’t rip the jig out of there tentacles as they are fragile little things 👍

A starving kitten can hardly distinguish your finger from food. lol Once you build up her weight, she'll stop biting. Young kittens need to eat several times a day. After a year old, there is no need to feed often. Remember: If you feed a cat, then it becomes yours. lol Smiles from Arizona, USA

Well...he abandoned the cat with no food or companions. No humans to help it along either. Not exactly the humane thing to do. At least drop the cat on a populated island so it has a better chance of survival. 😔

Cavy when you have time try this for squid fishing technique(japanese technique but I use it everywhere I go) : After throwing the egi in the water wait till it reaches the bottom and jerk three times slowly whilst reeling in and let the egi sink down again . If your line maintains tension you will definitely get more bites !

I am a rescue diver mate and the best thing for your mask is just spit. Spit in both sides wipe around and then just rinse quickly with the sea water. Don’t wipe when rinsing just dip quickly in the water to clear the mask then put on. Do it while in the water so you can put on immediately. Your videos are great and happy you found two new friends to keep you company. Keep it up mate :).

Hey Cavy mate, to stop your goggles from fogging up you spit onto the lenses and rub it in with your fingers. Then give it a quick rinse in the water and you are good to go. It will stop the fogging up for a bit. Quick, easy and inexpensive to do. Happy fishing dude.👍
