One of the best drummers around. Glad to see Turnstile getting more "mainstream" recognition with the late night appearances.

So you guys think his tempo changes aren't intentional? His time is good in the different sections. He plays with other musicians who would complain if he was playing tempos they didn't like. It's just their style choice to play it faster live. The dude can play.

He does, slow it down to .5 speed before the breakdown, you can see transparent ones in his ear and I’d imagine the cable is tucked up into his hat.

Everyone commenting on how it's faster, and it is, but it sounds to me like the guitar and drums just aren't on rhythm with each other for the beginning sections. Am I wrong?

Have to agree on the drastic tempo change… I don’t mind them playing songs faster, Turnstile is a energetic band with intense songs. But if they’re gonna do that they shouldn’t start of the song as slow as they do here, it makes it feel unstable. I’ve noticed a similair thing when they do ”Don’t play”, they start of at a good fast tempo but as soon the groove comes in before the first verse it slows down waay to much, enough to drag your energy down. Dan is my favourite drummer and in my favourite band right now, but he would really benefit from using a clicktrack for these two songs at least.
@MrCoolTre Жыл бұрын
He’s awesome and everything, but here for example he picks up speed big time after the hi hat intro. Click or not, pros shouldn’t be doing that. But yeah a click would fix it. I think they do use one on Holiday at least-with that clap during the chorus. He can’t lose the beat during that song.

What’s the point of counting it in if he’s jumping in so much faster? It’s sooo much faster than the album as well.
