CAYO LARGO CUBA, MEMORIES RESORT TOUR

In this video I take you on a tour of the Memories resort in Cayo Largo Cuba.
We had a direct flight from Ottawa Ontario to Cayo Largo Cuba which took about four hours. The resort is a short ten minute drive from the airport. We were greeted in the lobby by resort staff and champagne. The check in only took a few minutes and we were in our rooms and ready for the beach before eleven o'clock in the morning.
Our room was very clean, spacious and cozy. The beds were very comfortable and the A/C worked great when needed.
The staff were all very amazing. We would definitely recommend this resort and will come back again.
Our trip with flight and hotel was under $800 per person for seven days. We checked out the other resorts close by and decided we liked Memories the best which worked out great for our first time to this island.

The El Cayito "Lobby Bar" (@ the 7:55 mark in your video) is open 24 hours. For a price, they occasionally have some really high end Cognac at that bar.

Supplies on the island arrive by ship. If you are in a situation where it's rough water (red flag beach) every day, count on supplies to run low. The supply ship can't cross the sand bar into the marina area becasue of breaking waves. I've seen this happen several times over the years.

Yes please say hi, he is awesome. FYI...bring condiments, ketchup, hot sauce, mayo. Bring loonies and fives for tipping, you can buy loonies from the bar staff, it helps them because the bank does not take Canadian coin there. Bring a drink cozie. We brought gifts for the room cleaners, everyone is amazing there. Have a great trip !!! I will be putting out more videos of our vacation there, stay tuned.

Interesting transition at 4:40 in the video. Before it was rough water, too rough for snokeling. But once the amigo at the Chiringuito beach bar handed you your Cuba Libre, the water was intantly clam. Green flag. Get out the snorkel gear!

Hi Chris! love this vid. Headed here next month, might be a stupid question, but is there sand to lounge on at the resort? We love laying by the ocean on the sand and the video showed rocks, just curious. Thanks so much!

When were you there? Missing eggs and coffee at CAYO SANTA MARIA. Looks to be way much better in CAYO LARGO? This resort was the SOL CAYO LARGO before. Is there still nudism there? Nice video. Thank's.

We have been there several times many years ago when it was known as Sol Cayo Largo. How is the beach right in front of the hotel as we heard it has been washed away by hurricanes over the years.

Yes the beach is difficult when the tide is in and bigger waves, however many areas are still easy to access

@rayeckert9425 we went on a catamaran sunset snorkel, we also rented electric scooters for a day $25 and toured other beaches, and turtle sanctuary visit

The food was ok, better during the second half of the week as another flight came in with supplies, to be expected in Cuba.

The food wasn’t horrible, typical Cuba. The second half of the week was better with a new selection, I really didn’t mind it. Bring your own condiments.

Would you happen to know any of the resorts in Cayo Largo that allows it's guest to sunbathe in the nude? I heard Cayo Largo was a great destination that allowed this.

Yes there is a large beach area between resorts that is clothing optional

@@adokikennels2823 Loved it. If you aren't picky & don't mind being shuttled to other parts of the island for the main dinner or if you want to go to the bigger beach then you'll probably love it. Great place if you just want to relax & want some peace & quiet. The foods actually really great for cuba & staff are incredible. Overall really great experience for the price.
